Justise Winslow and Jaren Jackson Jr. are out. Should be an easy win, but with all the players saying they have a chip on their shoulder and want to start out winning from the get go I clearly believe they will lose. If Pop starts Gay the defense will be swiss cheese and Memphis will lead by 15 after the 1st quarter. Should be a close game though with Memphis pulling out the W

If that's the starting line-up then hopefully Pop subs Vassell in at the 10:00 mark of the 1st quarter.
Everyone needs to realize that Pop is not going to sit LMA or Derozz and is not going to make them run with the second unit. Those two will remain starters until they get traded or till season ends. Also, Mills is still going to get his minutes if White is not starting Mills will be getting even more minutes. And Rudy will be managed as usual playing good until his body needs to re charge and sit out a few games and then play again.........
of course demar and Lamarcus will start but Gay should not join them .... that is a defensive disaster ... lets see how many minutes Vassell gets

I definitely agree on DD and LMA (Pop would be stupid to put them on the bench and lower their trade value), and sadly on Mills too, until White gets better at least. But I can see Rudy not playing so much, to preserve his body. I have a feeling that he's the most likely one to get traded of the four (and the second most likely, after Mills, to net a positive return), so we might just play it safe until the trade window begins and we showcase him for a few games to get another team to bite.
...or maybe that's just wishful thinking. We'll find out soon enough
not expecting a win but it'd be nice to see some solid play from some of the young ones.

Personally I'm hoping for DDR/RG/LMA all playing a lot starting the season. Hopefull we loose a ful of games while these three (along with Patty) have good individual stats. That hopefully leads to a decent pick next season as well as some (preferrably all) of the mentioned being traded. If we get a few picks for them in midseason trades and play our youth heavy minutes after that, I'd be happy.
DJ still being square peg / round hole forced into the PG position when he's a natural 2/3.
I don't look for Gramps to have gained a clue on this but we'll see.
that should hopefully change when white is back. White at PG and DJ at SG. They played well together in the bubble + defensively they should be a good tandem

I’m going to say DJ, Lonnie, DDR, LMA, and Poodle start tonight.
In all honesty I don’t mind if we don’t win one game this season if starting the Vets leads to losses but get them traded to we’re we pick up some draft picks I am all for it. And I don’t care how bad the young guys play and how many games they loose just as long as after each month they are getting better. If at the end of the year the light bulb goes off for Murray and Walker and they start becoming the player we thought they wound be that would be a HUGE WIN.
An added bonus would be that Diop gets some playing time and fits in that would also be nice so him and Lyles can fight for minutes. Also for If Poodle can start to score more then 5pts a game and hit his free throws that would be Huge.
I expect to be disappointed by the starting lineup but I will give credit to Pop for likely doing it in a way I didn’t predict. But more seriously, please, Pop, play the youth even if they don’t start.
