C2H, I agree with your last post. I want to add the recent white stripes albums too....
Oh man I can't believe I JUST figured out these are 2 different threads!Must be the result of all the good drugs while listening to the crappy albums..or was it bad drugs and good albums?
I must be the only person who liked "Era Vulgaris."
Not the only one.
Its funny how the name of this thread is called "When good bands make a crappy album" and the first 3 bands named are Judas Priest, Deep Purple, and Rod Stewart. Anyone else think it is ironic?
LOL which 2 are you referring to?
IMO none of those 3 bands fit the bill of "good" but thats just my opinion.
No doubt, it's all opinion. But even if you aren't into JP and DP, those albums are way off their usual standard. (Of course, Deep Purple went on to make even worse albums in the 80's and 90's but the album I listed was made by the core lineup - Gillian, Blackmore, Glover, etc.)IMO none of those 3 bands fit the bill of "good" but thats just my opinion.
Rod Stewart I'll give you (although "Every Picture Tells a Story" is a good album... maybe that belongs in the other thread.)
judas priest kicks ass.
rob halford licked ass
i think he did more than that, but they were awesome with him fronting.
2 of us.
The man has a point![]()
Correct.
Priest and Purple fit the bill of "great", not "good".
Thanks for playing, though.
"Era Vulgaris" is garbage.
Icky Thump is a damn good album.
You have no idea of what you are talking about.
Only compared to other QOTSA albums. It's miles better than half the released by other bands.
their lyrics take on a brand new meaning when you revisit them. the song les alone are hilarious knowing he was all along.
