Had 3 points...missed some shots, didn't look altogether with it.

But, there is something about the guy I like. Was aggressive (missed that dunk attempt, but took balls to even try it...surprised the outta me actually), handled the ball in pressure pretty well...and looks very strong. Kid looks like he has some potential, even if it was a bad night for him, and the rest of the Spurs.

He should get some good minutes in the next few games...I'm interested.

Looks impressive, unless you watched how he blew the dunk when he could've laid it in with ease.

Last night he proved he wasn't ready for the big stage. He is a good individual player, but he struggled last night to operate within the confines of the game plan.

Conversely, Barry was effective in taking what the defense gave him and creating opportunities for others with his selective penetration & kick.

I like Washington's aggressiveness, but there is a fine line between playing aggressive and playing out of control. Last night, Washington played like the latter.

Bottom Line: Washington is a rookie and last night he played like one. He'll learn....

If he had thrown down that dunk we would all be singing his praises and talking about how he is proving his NBA worth.

He didn't have the best game... Still a rook, that's for sure. But I know I felt much more comfortable when he was in as opposed to Vaughn. I just don't think Vaughn does anything for us besides being a stop-gap.

He was attacked by Phil Jackson's full court defense every time he brought the ball up the court and I did not see him fail to move the ball over the midcourt line or cough up a turnover as a direct result of that pressure.

That is impressive for any rookie IMO.

Obviously it was something Beno couldn't do....

BUT, isn't it a little rediculous that you would celebrate a guy being able to advance a ball up the court under pressure? I mean, this guy probably dealt with full court pressure numerous times in college.

Again, he's certainly showing more guts and intensity than Beno ever did...but c'mon.

This guy reminds me of Antonio Daniels. If you liked AD (I did), you'll probably like Darius and vice-versa. Darius has a better chance than AD because he's closer to a pure point guard than AD -- but the at ude and athleticism, and abillity to piss off Pop, seem the same.

By any chance of the imagination (since Tony is out) do you think Washington will start these next couple of games???
