Spurs director of PR Tom James in reference to Tim Duncan's potentially devastating knee injury as a "no big deal", is like Christmas music to my ears.

A contusion as well as a sprained ankle...that's unfortunate for those contenders to the throne
THANKS GOD, WE STILL HAVE THE CHANCE TO DEFEND OUR 2007 LE.

There's so many reasons to thank for. The 2006-07 le, and the "it's no big deal" Duncan injury. And Manu's.

So, in the spirit of Christmas, maybe there are some of you who would like to own a copy of the two(2) Special Edition of the 2006-07 Championship DVD I'm giving away this Christmas.

How to join? Simply tell me why you deserve to own a copy of the DVD and how you became a Spurs fan.

We(me & 2 of my friends), will select the best 5 answers and raffle the 2 winners before Christmas. I will notify the winners thru' this thread. You may PM me your address by then.

    Happy Holidays everyone!

Well, ill be going home in the Philippines on the 19th of December and:
    - I paid $1800 for my airfare.
    - Ill be staying there for 3 months so i will be spending a ton of money on gifts, shopping and food.
    - Im gonna quit my job so i wont be earning anything for 4 months
    - I still have to pay monthly on my car without using it
    - Im not sure how long I can find a new job when I get back here
    - I wont be able to watch my Spurs coz Spurs games are not on local cable that much.
    - lastly, I can get to meet you guys in person when you decide to give me the DVD set over a few San Mig lights and sisig on the side

Unlike the great majority of fans, what turned me on to the Spurs was not any single player. Intead, I have always been intrigued by Coach Pop. My dad spent his entire career in the Air Force and I grew up a bona fide Air Force Brat. Pop intrigued me with his background in Russian studies and stint in counter-intelligence, and I though it would be cool seeing him apply his skils in the NBA. Honestly, what I knew about the Spurs prior to Pop taking over the coaching job was practically zero. I knew that they had a great player in DRob and he was an Annapolis alum so there's the military angle once again. But honestly, the overall impression wasn't that great because of the disruption the Worm was causing and Hill's inability to get the job done. That all changed when Pop took charge. then the Spurs got lucky and got TD in the lottery and he was like a breath of fresh air after the Rodman fiasco. The Spurs have gotten lucky twice in the lottery but I think that the winning tradition really started with Pop.
I'd really love to have a copy of the CDs. I go to the malls in Manila and can't find any Spurs DVDs. I'd love to play them in the restaurant I operate so others can enjoy watching the Spurs as much as i do.

hmmn, a lot of Pinoys want to work in the U.S. and you are.. what? quitiing your job?

thanks for the response. I was actually hesitant to start a thread like this (sorry, Kori), but I have extra DVDs that I wanted to give to Spurs fans who can't buy this limited DVD which I think is not available (as of Nov. here yet), so, for those who are interested, here's your chance.

Very compelling answer. I think we've got a winner.

And ever since, Tim has been my favorite Spur.

    sige na...please.

Phillipinos are good people. It's pretty cool reading about the history of the Phillipines and how basically they just want to be left alone but everyone is always trying to take their Islands or sieze control and they always end up fighting off those that do even though they are often the underdogs or at a disadvantage to do so. Cool history. I've never met a Phillipino that wasn't a down to earth and genuinely nice person...

Except The Truth when I am trying to get a trade done with him in Dynasty League.

That's very nice of you Milky Way. Random acts of kindness go a long, long way.

Pictures paint a thousand words. Here is my office station (I work in Makati). I do not have my Adidas Spurs shoes with me so it is not included in these pictures.

And for an additional info, I am seated beside a Maverick fan so you guys can probably imagine our every day smack-talks.

Dapat contest na lang. Pagandahan/paramihan ng Spurs memorabilia display

(kaso I'm in the US so.. I guess I would be disqualified... OR you could give it to my family in the Phils and they can send it to me :p)

hey you got me crying already.
    Advance Happy birthday.

The response from the Spurs Pinoy fans are so overwhelming, I didn't expect it, I already have a hard time picking the right people to be included in the raffle. I guess I'd include you all guys. Thanks much.

hey milky, is the Special Edition the one with the Bonus Features?
yap. It's the original with all the features such as about Finley, Oberto's, Tony and Eva, Duncan's top 10 and the one I enjoyed most the first time I saw Manu's return to his hometown with Pops on the side, to name a few.

I just want you guys to see and enjoy the DVD. I wish they included the clinching qtr like in the 2005 DVD but nevertheless, it's worth collecting also because IT'S THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS. I don't know how many times I watched my copy just to tell you. I never get tired of watching it all over, & over again.

Kind words, Whott. I guess the down-to-earth personality stems from the fact that those whom you meet abroad, know how hard they had to work to get to where they are.

of course we still have our fair share of arrogant ones in the Philippines.
