I got a new computer as a gift to myself (it's a Dell). And it's the fastest thing you have ever seen ... wtf.
Oh and my flat screen monitor is giant!

Congrats Kori.
Considering you pretty much earn your living on your computer I'm glad you could get yourself a nice one.
Use it in good health.
I wanted to get myself a new pc for Xmas, but myself is broke. So I guess its a card this year...... ... ............. ................ again
LJ found it for me during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday time, so it was actually a good deal.
I refused to get a computer if I had to get Vista
We had an awesome deal on a different computer with Vista and I nix'd it.
Kori why are your eyes open in the avatar. should they not be closed like LJ?
enjoy the new pc.
Hey Kori, how do you like Vista? I hear a lot of praise about it, and I also have a dell with Vista. I'm not that impressed about it. What do you think?
my son hates his Vista.
I don't have Vista; I have XP.
Did it come loaded with all that retail bull like AOL, Quickbooks, etc, etc? My company is making us buy new Dells which come with XP and do not have all those other garbage programs and files that seem to slow the system sown.
Unless you have at least a dual-core processor, a close to cutting edge video card and scads of RAM, Vista is a waste. I've had to work on a few lately with Vista and it drove me (more) nuts. And Vista Home Basic is less than worthless, all the slow and none of the pretty graphics.
Well, it does have some improved security features and other technical pluses, but I'm sticking with XP pro. Most of the security issues today are related to social engineering. ("The pop-up told me my computer was infected and I needed to download the spy program. Aren't they so helpful?")
Mine doesn't have any of those garbage programs.
For what I do, Vista's been fine, but I've heard of all the reasons people are sticking with XP, so it's cool.
Ditto.
I've got XP on my desktop and Vista on my laptop and I like them both. Only differences I've even noticed are the additional security features and the way Vista looks.
About 10 people I know who have Vista have started getting the dreaded Blue Screen and regular lock ups on their computer. Because I make a living writing on the computer, I didn't want to risk it.
I've heard the same things... guess I've been lucky.
Me too. I've had my vista laptop since April and I've never had any problems with it.
Hope I'm not jinxing my self though!![]()
