Pistons didn't go to the NBA Finals in 2006. The Miami Heat did.
Without Dallas' fake series win on a couple of lucky shots in 2006, and without LeBron's fluke Game 5 crap performance in 2007, these teams would be meeting for the 4th consecutive time in the Finals in 2008.....This Thursday will be a preview of the two teams that will be in the Finals, Spurs and the Pistons.

Pistons have proved themselves to be the better squad this season.

The Celtics are elite yes, but I think in a 7-game series, Pistons would win the series in Game 7 in double OT, 115-114.
I'd love to see it, just to stick it to the media.
Unless the Celtics record comes back down to earth I see them getting every call and them some in the playoffs.
Man, everything that goes against SpursDynasty's thought process is a fluke or lucky. The Mavs were better in 06, they forced the Spurs out of their game plan like no team has during this decade and for that reason they continue to be the toughest match up for your Spurs. And Detroit has sucked in the playoffs during the Flip years. They consistently get outcoached, and the lack of bench and creativity catches up with them. So no, they were not fluke results.
anything that doesn't fit into SD's scheme of things is an aberration to him, thus, a fluke. it includes his own predictions.
SD's bit is to predict every possible combo, then claim that he's a genius when 1/100 is correct...
You are aware that Flip Saunders is still coaching the Pistons.
Yeah, the Pistons could beat the Celtics in a 7-game series....If they didn't have to carry the burden of Flip Saunders.
Because we all know the pistons have what it takes to take out teams they are supposed to take out.
hopefully the pistons don't get a fluke win with lucky shots and the spurs just shoot the shots and beat the team they're supposed to.
