Tried cashing a check in a bank or store lately? They kinda like
to see some ID. I know they do that to keep the minorities out
of banks and stores.
Neocons and Tin Foil hat wearers alike:
Is this really necessary? I mean, come on.

I don't see how you can implement any kind of border/immigration control (whether it's amnesty or kicking them out) without some coherent ID system for citizens and permanent residents. Unfortunately, it's one more step towards Big Brother. I wish there was some balance on the government side for protecting our privacy.
Don't we already have one?

From what I've read of it, heck no, and borderline uncons utional.
Granted, haven't checked it out lately, so old knowledge...
Dan and Yoni are in agreement on the issue, in case anybody doesn't think that this is a bad idea.
Are they putting the RFID chips in the cards? Eh, it doesn't matter I guess. You know they will eventually. And whatever happened to the Verichip? I haven't heard anything about that in awhile.
But they're going to know the realID ?
The government could just as easily educate the necessary people on passports as the real ID.
Quit wasting time and money, give us our scannable brain chips and be done with it.
I would be surprised if we're in agreement for the same reasons. The operative word in the poll question was "necessary."
If it did not cost any money to implement and it a huge information database potentially available to ing MEXICO and Canada was not a part of the Act, I may give it more thought. But this seems like a bad deal every way you look at it. Granted YOU are not a rich political figure in the New America.
