Oh and the Spurs have lost seven straight games to teams with a winning record. It'd be nice to end that streak.
The Lakers come to town with a better record than the Spurs. The Spurs are playing their second to last home game before the Rodeo Road Trip, so getting a win here is pretty important. It'd be nice to build off of the Bobcats victory and actually string together some wins.
A loss wouldn't be tragic but a win would go a long ways toward getting the confidence back.

That should be reason enough to get up for this game.
When was the last time this happened?
2002 maybe
Our confidence or the teams?
I'd like a win of course but if they play well I'll be happy. The record doesn't bother me if they bring it and leave it all on the court.
I liked how they looked in most of the Bobcats game, I'd like to see the energy continue.
I hope Duncan rises, he's been great to watch.
I disagree. A home loss to a Bynum-less Laker team would be tragic.
This ish needs to stop now.
Losing @ATT to Lakers w/o Bynum would be another embarrassment alongside getting blown out @ATT by Pistons.
It's only January, way too early for the Spurs to get serious.
Last time Spurs were on National TV against the Pistons, i said i felt good about them and we all know how that turned out, so i feel like about them tonight, let the reverse happen.
Dunno when the Spurs started playing "must wins" in January.
But what the , lets change em now and make em peak in march
There's a difference between must wins and playing hard. They can play hard now and not peak in March. Plus, if you want them to peak for the playoffs now is the time for them to start sharpening up.
This is going to be a huge game, we have to start being able to intimidate opponents and getting statement victories again; if teams keep running over us we won't have the same SPAM effect. I predict a win by at least 7.
Did anyone see how ESPN is advertising this game?
They show Kobe dunking on the Spurs twice and said he dominated them the last game. But the footage is at the AT&T Center. If the footage is from this season, they lost that game. Also, they fail to mention that Duncan and Parker were out the last time they played.
On Sports Center, they made it a point to mention that TD only had five points the last time he faced the Lakers. But they fail to mention the Spurs won that game.
I know I should be used to it by now. But they are the defending champs.
Lakers 94 Spurs 89
sequ predicts the Spurs to lose.
of a fan.
I don't know if they are still pursuing Webber. But w/ Webber or not in their line-up if Bynum is healthy and Kobe continues to make more passes possible for his teammates to score, this team will be in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs.
Unless of course they meet the Spurs in the first round.(homer)
Go, Spurs!WIN THIS ONE
Spurs need to start beating teams with winning records. While it wouldn't be the end of the world with a loss, it'd be nice to go into the rodeo road trip with some wins.
Beating the Lakers would certainly brighten up my dreary, rainy day.
Possibly. But next year is the year the Lakers really contend.
Once Bynum develops a base, him and Kobe are going to be
dangerous.
I agree with the Laker fan.
They are one good draft, and next year of another summer of Bynum with Kareem away from being tough again.
with Bynum out Duncan will roll...![]()
I remember losing to the Lakers at home at this time last season (I was 6th row, behind the bench) and it was horrible, the lowpoint of the season, although watching the bench was fun.
The Lakers are a different squad without Bynum, and the Spurs should make this a statement game and put them in their place. Whether or not that will happen is another thing, but there have been flashes of fine play lately and one can always hope...
Interestingly, Bruce has gone off on Kobe twice this season for 22 and 23 points. It'd be nice to see him hitting his 3s again, and I think that would do a lot to help the offense since he's set up for so many but has been missing most of them (6-25), or driving and messing it up, so far this month.
GO SPURS GO!!!
Barry starting in place of Oberto this game. Stupid small ball against a real team.
WTF![]()
With Bynum out, no need to play our big guns.![]()
