Where was this Jefferson in Boston?
Big Al went for 40 and 19 tonight. Over his last 6 games he is averaging 26.8 pts and 13.4 rebounds, to go with season averages of 20.7 and 11.9.
When the Wolves got back only him as the major piece in the KG trade, I thought they left better potential deals with Chicago and maybe even Phoenix on the table. But if he keeps getting better, Jefferson looks to be a real number one scoring option in the post. He's young, AND he resigned for less than the max, which he probably could have gotten.
I'm pretty impressed by this kid.

The guy is only 23 years old. Big men often take a bit longer to develop as players. On the other hand, sometimes players need a change in scenery.
Greg Oden and Dwight Howard might have something to say about that.
And I forget he played with Antoine Walker,Pierce and Ricky Davis. Not enough shots to go around.
Jefferson. Damn he's good. Too bad those dumbasses from KF laughed at me when I said I love Al's game 2 years ago. I was right before and still right today.
He'll rule side-by-side with Howard.
Still iffy about Oden though.
He was good at the season when Pierce was injured. I remember he torched the Spurs and almost won against them, this kid has great hands and a good personality.
40 and 19.. dang.. that's like Amare Stoudemire on a very good night.
from what i can remember he actually has post moves instead of get ball, jump stop, dunk.
I'm really looking forward to the next generation of low-post battles. In the mid-90's, we had Robinson/Ewing/Hakeem/Shaq/Zo/Mutumbo. After that, big men seemd to abandon low-post play for more diverse games. Guys like Duncan and Boozer were the enigmas, with guys like Webber, KG, Dirk, K-Mart, Brand, etc. representing a new breed of big man.
Now, it seems like the traditional post game is coming back. I'm looking forward to seeing Oden, Jefferson, Howard, and even Yao (as the elder statesman) go at it for trhe next 10 years.
And Jefferson doesn't have Nash
His defense is flat out awful. Great post player, though.
I meant Stoudemire about 2 years ago, sorry.
Even last season, he was producing very good numbers. He is better this season though.
