RATINGS!
Wouldn't you watch Shaq try to run up and down the floor in an uptempo offense?
It's all about Entertainment in Phoenix.
It doesn't get much more entertaining than Shaq
Is the Redskins special teams coming out?I hear circus music
I don't think there's enough ball boys/floor wiper guys to clean up all that sweat, talk about making it rain
Well a ReRematch between the Lakers and the Suns in the playoffs will certainly draw HUGE ratings... that series will decide, once and for all, on who got the better deal/ whos the better player
I'd love to see the Shaq led Suns burst the Laker nation's newly inflated le hopes.
Then lose to us in the next round... of course!
Yeah Shaq runs the floor, pulls a hamstring and misses the rest of the season. Which will give him loads of time to hit the snacks and settle his divorce. Have a blast Shaq.![]()

if it makes since or not the damage has been done and now the suns have another big threat so long as he can remain healthy...i bet this is his last season
Man, are the Suns glutton for pain? There is no freakin way this aging rhino keeps up their style of play. Unless D"Antonio suddenly found religion and is changing his strategy to heavy defense and half-court basketball. It couldn't happen to a better team. Look to analysts and fans alike proclaim le shots only to once again get tossed out with a useless Shaq. I don't see Amare liking this one bit either.
It makes sense for Phoenix because the Suns actually have a chance to win a championship now if everything falls into place for them. Before the trade, they had no chance.
Do you really think so? An aging shaq replacing marion gives them more of a chance for a championship?
Yes. Marion is the most overrated player in the NBA ... and that become true X 10 against the Spurs. Shaq, if he reclaims even 75% of his former magic, is a much tougher player to guard and gameplan for than Shawn "Regular Season Wonder" Marion.
It's not quite that Shaq is "the missing piece", but the fact that Shaq's presence alone turns Phoenix into a half-court team, the key to getting through the playoffs.
Whether Shaq himself will dominate or provide leadership depends on his health. Phoenix COULD stick to run-n-gun, but that'd be kinda pointless with Shaq.
Maybe shaq will lose 50 lbs running with the Suns and go back to his 25 ppg 11 rpg career stats![]()
Seriously I believe it is a risky move for them (will Shaq be able to follow the Suns pace? If the Suns stop running how will they adapt?) but I agree with timvp, this trade gives them a shot at a shampionship if everything goes fine (not so likely IMO) when they didn't have one.
Makes sense because they don't have to change their mascot, a gorilla look alike for another gorilla look alike.
But can Shaq jump through rings of fire?
What I don't understand is that Shaq is due 20M$ a year until 2010. This could screw them for the next 3 seasons. Do the Suns expect Shaq will retire? Do they think Shaq can play for the next 2 seasons? Do they believe this year is their last shot at a championship before Nash decline?

One more thing is that PHX probably believes that Diaw can jump in Marion's shoes and finally worth 9M$/y
Maybe they think this is Nash's last shot?
They will have one heck of an expiring contract in a couple years to replace Nash.
Bob Costas agrees
Bad news for the chumps.
