that will be the road to the finals for SPurs.
can't wait to drop Suns in 2nd round again
Currently the seedings at the break are as follows:
1. No.
2. Phx
3. Lakers
4. Jazz
5. Spurs
6. Mavs
7. GSW - tie
8. Houston - tie
9. Denver - tie
If the playoffs started today, it would not shock me if all 4 lower seeded teams won their first round match up. I know statistics say this will never happen, but it certainly could.
Houston is the hottest team in the West and New Orleans has no playoff experience. GSW have proven they can beat the Suns in a game. The Mavs could beat the Lakers although it depends upon who is healthy and who is playing PG for the Mavs. And the Spurs will beat the Jazz in the first round.
The West is unbelievably tight from 1 through 8 and honestly, i think every single series is going to be unbeleivable.

I was wondering why the Spurs are below Utah.
They lead their division
This is so premature, the Spurs have their long road trip behind them and will be getting Parker back and while they may not catch the top seed in their division, I believe they will get at least the 4th seed and HC for the first round. No worries.
Spurs have 31 games left win and I predict they win 23 of them per one of their usual post all star rolls and get at least the 4th seed.
Oh yeah. Duh!![]()
DOH!
If the Hornets keep their winning percentage the same, that leaves the Spurs 1 game behind!
Spurs just passed up the Mavs. As I predicted, the Mavs are going into a tailspin. Their upcoming 10 games is just brutal. The Mavs, could easily fall out.
Hornets are going to take a dive too. Spurs will be leading the division in two weeks.
I just hope we'll ply better after the break.
The playoffs are going to be sweet.....also if healthy the Lakers will be a top 4 seed. If you look at Phil's teams after the all-star games they usually win at a high percentage. Actually this Laker team has the best record out of any Laker team at this juncture since the 00 season.
Spurs
Lakers
Suns
Utah
Keep in mind the problem that has arisen with Kobe. If he has the surgery, he is going to be out for probably 6 weeks, and that could end the Lakers even making the playoffs. If he doesn't, it is probably going to affect his 3 point shooting, and everytime he take a lick on that pinkie (and you know everyone will take a shot at it), he could be on the bench in tears for a few minutes. At any rate, he will be playing in pain all the time.
I look for the games to start picking up in intensity now, and the Hornets to backslide a bit. Dallas has already lost ground. Suns will probably end up as number 1 seed, but will fall by the wayside come playoff time. Depending on TMac and Yao's health, Houston does seem to be on a roll and could be in the top seeds.
West is tough. Has been all year. And it ain't gonna get any easier from here on out. Everyone will try to pick it up a notch post ASG.
Number 9 is 4 1/2 games behind number 1. It's going to be a nailbiter.
The West is just crazy good this year. Right now Denver isn't even in the playoffs right now but if they were in the East they would be the 3rd seed! The East might have the two best teams record wise but the West is so much better it's rediculous.
Denver, Houston, or NO...those are the teams I'd want the Spurs to play in the first round. They are the "easiest" 1st round opponent out of the bunch.
There's a strong possibility that there's going to be 1 or 2 teams will win 50 games and NOT make the playoffs. Meanwhile in the East, there's going to be like 3 or 4 teams possibly with a sub .500 record who'll make it as the 5-6-7 seed.![]()
You mean like the last 2 years where they've totally fallen apart fallen to the 7th seed and plopped out of the playoffs quietly? If you look at Phil's teams after the all-star games they usually win at a high percentage
The difference between the East and the West is comical. If it weren't for Boston and Detroit....
Lakers will finish out the season #1 in the WC. When Bynum gets back nobody will have a chance against us. Bynum, Gasol, Kobe, Odom, Fisher.......are you kidding me? We're gonna straight drop the hammer on teams and increase our already #1 in the WC point differential.
Kobe's pinky and Bynum's knee look like they had a hammer dropped on them.
The Lakers will be out in the second round at best.
Yeah Kobe switch to shooting lefty?
If he has surgery the Lakers will be lucky to make the playoffs.
If he doesn't he better hope no one hacks that right hand too hard and really does permanent to really bad damage.
Can't wait Horry drops Steve again

Nope. Bynum is coming back 100% and is already ahead of schedule. If Kobe can manage the pain he should be just fine, look at his shooting the last two games (very good).
We also have VERY weak opposition in the 2nd half of the season IMHO.
I'm Predicting a 23-8 finish

Yeah keep buying into Kobe is "just fine"
Keep saying that as you rock back and forth holding your pillow in the crouched position.
26-5 is what they will need to win the divison probobly.
