all cubes asked was if the heat were gonna buyout Shaq, then if that was the case the mavs would have been interested in signing him. Mavs didnt want to trade for him, just sign him if he was bought out

I think when Shaq actually gets out there on the court in Phoenix, Cuban will be happy he didn't get Shaq.

Zero les for Nash, he should be happy. He saved a fortune on Nash and he has not led the Suns anywhere.

Cuban is a . When he first came in the league, he spend frivolously on such dopes like Shawn Bradley, Raef LaFrentz and Keith Van Horn. He was handing out money and bad contracts like it was going out of style.
Now that he's been in luxury tax for years, he's seemingly changed his philosophy and want to rape other teams by getting something for nothing.
First he wants Kobe Bryant, but doesn't want to include Dirk in the trade. Then he wants Miami to "do him a solid" and buyout Shaq, so he can get his hands on him. This guy must be smoking crack.
Let's also not forget this he made his biggest mistake in not resigning Steve Nash.

Contract year Dampier was a good signing? You're kidding right? Cuban might as well have donated that money to charity it would have gone to better use.
Dampier's contract was massively excessive, but you have to admit you'd rather have Damp guarding Stoudemire or Duncan than Dirk or Jamison or Antoine Walker.
They should have kept Nash. Two superstars are better than one especially now that you know Dirk has no balls. He just didn't give it enough time. Damp is just terrible on all levels. 70 mil for Dampier? That's disgusting.
With Nash = eliminated in conference Finals.
Without Nash = eliminated in NBA Finals.
Mavs let Nash go because they knew how bad their defense would hold them back with him and Dirk as starters. Phoenix has been a better fit for Nash's skills than Dallas. It worked out for both him and the Mavericks.

Maybe he's a , but spending poorly doesn't make him one. When he first bought the team, he ran it like a fan, going after every player/flavor of the month that became available. Now the Mavericks practice fiscal responsibility, partly because they have to, partly because they want to maintain some financial flexibility and they've learned from their mistakes.

Miami wasn't interested in Erick Dampier, and bringing in Shaq would've cost the Mavs $80 million, $40 for Shaq's salary and another $40 million in dollar for dollar luxury tax. Suns could never get there to begin with playing up-tempo smallball, so you might want to pipe down. It's pretty empirical evidence: The Mavs got better and went further without Nash than they did with him. You forget that there was a ceiling to how good defensively a team can be with both Nash and Dirk together.
