I think if it could be effective Spurs would implement it a long long time ago...
... on regular basis like Sheed Wallace... Is it a Good idea???
I think that it would bring another dimension to his game making him lot more difficult to guard !!!
I Like it...

1 attempt a game wouldn't bother me if he's wide open
if he happens to get the ball at the 3 point line and the shot is there shot it. however, his strength is in the paint and that's where he needs to be. i'm not sure if i'm ready for pick and pops with timmy drifting out for a 3.
Don't we have enought 3 point shooters?
We already have enough players shooting 3's, we don't need our 7 foot power forward doing it too.
I think he should jack at least 2 from half court each game. Now that would really add another dimension to his game. Maybe even a shot from the top of the key ...at the other end of the court.
I wouldn't be opposed to him jacking one up on a pick and roll with Tony at the top of the key. Its usually a shot at the top of the circle, why not back it up to the 3. No one will respect the shot.
Only with the shot clock running down.
Don't want Tim to turn into our version of Dirk
Nope, Just because he can hit that shot does not mean he should be playing that. He needs to play down low. That is where our advantage is almost every game.
I've always been of the mindset Duncan could shoot just as well from the 3 as he could from just out past the ft line.
He just sticks to what hes superb at though. Hard to get rebounds and put backs from out there.
Tim Duncan career stats: 24-124 19.4%
Well, he COULD shoot 3s... but why should he?
A lot of people on the team could do a lot of things. But they don't. Why? Because of offensive efficiency.
Most the 3s hes taken throughout his careers have either been half/full courts or shotclock desperations so those stats don't really reflect what hes capable of from beyond the arc if he tries to incorporate that into his game, but we'll never know anyway cause he won't.
He can dribble pretty well. Let's start him at PG.
yeah, and let's sign Antoine walker while we're at it
Seriously, is the ASG weekend so rough that we have to resort to crap like this?
Great idea. While we're at it lets have Bruce Bowen start to post up players as well.
just because duncan could make more then that choke player called dirk
I think we called it point forward before
the last time I remember Tim hitting a 3 was when we were playing catch up against the lakers in the 02 playoffs
erm... he hit a 3 in game 7 against the pistons for the '05 championship.
Atari also rated him only 1 ball in 3 point shooting. they also rated him only a 1 ball in defense even though he just won DPOY the year the video game came out.

NEW ORLEANS — Proving that size is no detriment to long-range accuracy, the two greatest big men in Spurs history on Saturday gained the most unlikely bragging rights of their careers.
Tim Duncan and David Robinson each made a half-court shot to lead Team San Antonio to victory in the shooting stars challenge that was part of All-Star Saturday at New Orleans Arena.

Teaming with Silver Stars standout Becky Hammon, Duncan and Robinson outshot Team Chicago, led by Chris Duhon, B.J. Armstrong and Candice Dupree, in the final round of a shooting contest that is a race against the clock to make shots from different spots on the court.
Robinson hit the long shot to get the Spurs in the final round. Duncan's half-court shot, on his first try, won it.
"I make them all the time," Duncan said of his long shot, "and that's not even sarcastic. That's actually true."
