LeBron has done more with less than anybody else this year. I think he'll get serious consideration. I wouldn't mind if Paul or Bryant won though.
Who do you think deserves it?
and
Who do you think wins it?
my opinion:
Deserves it: Chris Paul
Will Win it: Kobe Bryant

+1
Kobe will get bonus points for playing with a bad finger.
Ginobili!
Deserves if Spurs win West but won't get. If Garnett or Kobe get it it will be undeserved. Can live with Paul but James has to get it.
it's the EAST, nuff said.
CP3 has managed to give his team the best record in th WEST. Not only that, he's made his teamates significantly better. U think West would have been an all star player if he played on a team w/o Paul? And Peja had flew off the face of the earth until this season.
Lebron and Kobe are amazing individual talents, but Cp3 is more valuable to his team because he makes them all a lot better...not just himself.
It's funny because everyone keeps saying the MVP race is so close this year, where I think Chris Paul is the runaway choice.
Unfortunately, Kobe will probably get it.
Cp3
Lebron
Bonner
Dirk Nowitzki or Kidd
LBJ
Chris Paul
Kobe
In that order.
LeBron easily
KG probably
way too early to think about this....are you that bored????
Come on....really.
LeBron.
30/8/7.5 hasn't been seen since MJ and the Big O. He leads PER by a wide margin. Leads in 4th quarter points. Much improved defense. He convincingly outplayed Kobe at both ends of the floor in their head-to-head games.
The Cavs haven't won a single game without LBJ in the lineup. With Lebron the Cavs' winning % is an impressive 63%. They have a winning record vs the West. They've played most of their games without Varejao and Pavlovic. Now Gibson is down.
Tough to argue those facts. Specially when KG plays with Pierce/Allen, and the Celts did pretty well when KG went down. Paul is a more serious MVP candidate than Kobe because his team is #1 in the West, and he is #2 in PER (Kobe is #7).
The Cavs probably won't win 50 games and most likely won't have one of the top 2 records in the East. That will greatly hurt his chances. His numbers are ridiculous though.
In terms of deserving:
1. Chris Paul
2. LeBron James
3. Kobe Bryant
4. Kevin Garnett
5. Dwight Howard
In that order. But, I can foresee whichever player's team ends up with a better record between Paul and Kobe actually ending up being the one winning it.
It's LeBron 4 sure. He's has the most PPG with 31 and 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The MVP stood for most valuable player last time I checked and the Cavs are 0-6 without him. I would not be mad at all if Chris Paul won it though. He is remarkable in his own right. Kobe has a chance, but I think them getting Gasol might hurt his chance...at least I hope so. KG is playing great...no doubt...but he also has Peirce and Allen...and that cant hurt.
I agree. Especially if the Celtics keep up their recent .500 ball. I think Paul or Kobe are deserving, but feel Paul, at such a young age, has really done an incredible job of leading a team to the best record in the brutal west after not even making the playoffs last year. Kobe's done phenominal, but I've been a bit more impressed with Paul.
CP3 isn't getting anywhere near that award. Lebron, KG, and Kobe will be in the mix based on the media's tendencies.
Chris Paul...
*faints*
