I've been learning Holdem since the new year and am getting the hang of it I think but still raw. Had the idea of seeing if you guys played.

    Absolute Poker?
    Poker Stars?
    Bodog?

I got AP, and it's kinda bleh but free is free. I'm not betting real clams till I get this down 100% and am confident.

Anyhoo my idea was getting whichever one you guys play most often, and maybe catching ya on there for some lessons. Play money of course. But I'm sure to you guys play money is a waste of time eh??

if you want to learn tournament style go to pokerschoolonline.com. It simulates live action the best. Otherwise, you'll never learn until you bet real clams.

Brut....The only prob with play money, is that people rarely play like a real game.
They are grossly loose with their calls, and don't play with proper Ratio's.

Free poker gives you some very bad habits, my reccomendation in free poker is play extremely tight, almost never bluff as you will get called down with air 9 times out of 10 anyway. If you are doing good, do not get over confident. I would suggest playing in some of the smaller limit tourneys $1 $2 etc or under one dollar cash games to get your feet wet, if you start killing or cashing often move up a level.

But you ahve to really stay there for a long period of time to realistically establish if you are just having a good run of cards or actually really a decent player at that table. Many players often move up too fast becasue they get over confident at one level because they've cashed a few times, only to find out they are in for a rude awakening when they get to the next level.

You have to play at a level long enough for variance to run its course.---------------------------

Yup, with Poker, Brutalis, you gotta learn from reading about it, thinking about it, watching other players and taking your lumps.

    Nothing surpasses experience in poker.

I do Pokerstars and used to do FullTilt also...till it got really hard to pull money in and out of my account. I agree with others that play money poker will show you the basic rules and setup of poker but will not be a good indication of how money players really play. Doing the $1 and $2 dollar tourneys is a good idea until you feel comfortable playing the cash games...
