So there are the cheerleaders, the bridgejumpers and the excusemakers.
Everyone thats on the verge of freaking out (or already did) and completely giving up on the Spurs, we'll be alright don't worry, were just stuck in a damn stretch of playing a -load of games against good teams who are fighting for playoff position and not having enough days to rest/practice. In the Playoffs the intensity/execution/hustle/and most importantly the smarts and "D" go up and we will show up in those categories I know. This may be the last time some of these old vets get this close to get a one more ring, and If it were me I would go all out to try and get it. But if you look closely at our recent schedule it is really a . Playing Indiana in Sa, then flying to ing Denver to play them there, fly to Phx, fly back home to Sa and play Denver again, then one day off, fly to NO and play them. Now upcoming games for the Spurs:
Fri, Mar 14 @ Detroit
Sat, Mar 15 @ Philadelphia
Mon, Mar 17 Boston
then a little break with the next string of tough games coming up like this:
Sun, Mar 23 @ Dallas
Tue, Mar 25 @ Orlando
Sun, Mar 30 Houston
Tue, Apr 1 Golden State
Fri, Apr 4 @ Utah
Sun, Apr 6 @ Portland
Wed, Apr 9 Phoenix
Sun, Apr 13 @ LA Lakers
But going back to the recent string of games starting from the Indiana game to now that is 8 GAMES IN 11 NIGHTS. That is a tough schedule for any team. But the thing ppl are not realizing is, is that every team in the West in Playoff contention has a string of games coming up just like we have right now, which means just because we may drop to 6th, 7th, or god forbid 8th, it doesnt mean its going to stay that way. Here are the tough string of games for each team in the West:

So just because one day our team or yours for whoever you are drops a game or two or three and drops in the standing or wins games and goes up in the standings it doesnt matter until that last game of the regular season is played because looking at everyones schedule every team in contention for a spot has a tough schedule at some point left in the yr.
So there are the cheerleaders, the bridgejumpers and the excusemakers.
The West is terrible no fovorites and no underdogs....
The all post season gonna be a fight dog.....
Seeds aren't so important when teams are so close althought HCA.....
Hard to worried about a loss when the Finals are coming with Suns, Dallas, Lakers, Jazz, NO, Rockets, Warriors right now
Terrible for feeling refreshed for the playoffs...but pretty fortunate for my fantasy team.
Although HCA is the most prized possession, I think avoiding that team that has your # will also be vital. It might be worth dropping a seed.
Although all the teams are good, some teams present serious matchup problems:
Mavericks want to avoid the Warriors
Spurs should avoid Hornets and Suns
Suns avoid Hornets and Lakers
Utah should avoid any team with HCA
The most dangerous teams of the Playoffs: #8 seed Warriors or Nuggets. All the other teams are known commodities, these last 2 inconsisent teams are wildcards waiting for an upset. They have the skills to beat ANY team in the league in a series...Nobody wants to fight a crazy person.
Spurs avoid Suns?
They're a good luck charm!
The Spurs own the Suns and the Warriors. I'll take either of those matchups. There's not a playoff team in the west the Spurs can beat if they play the way they've been playing the last week, though.
In the playoffs, the two teams I'd want to avoid are the Hornets and the Mavs...they are just not good matchups for the Spurs...all the rest are beatable.
By this logic, I guess the Suns want to play the Lakers. They're a good luck charm! Every team is the same, every year!
