What part of Michigan are you moving to?
It will definitely be one of an adjustment, coming from Texas. But it's not a complete and absolute hole. I'm originally from Miami, and the weather was the biggest thing I had to get over ... but now, 17 years later, I love it, and don't miss the days of 90 degrees 90% humidity one bit.
We will be in Ann Arbor. Where is Mikey located?

One of my good friends spent a summer interning in Detroit a couple years ago - his car was stolen and he got to watch it in a high speed chase on TV. Unfortuntately, his insurance wouldn't total the car, so he's still driving it, and the punk ass chick that stole the car left her demo CD in the player. Of course, the CD sucked hardcore.
Needless to say, I am prepared to watch my ass there.
I love Ann Arbor and I bet that you and Jess will love it, too. Just not in the winter time.
