Milwaukee just lost to the Miami Heat. Miami didn't have Wade or Marion. The game was so uninteresting that NBA.com had a whopping 3 line recap.

Now, I think most of us understand why the Miami Heat are so bad... mostly having to do with mortgaging their future for Shaq and a Championship. I don't have a problem with this. But, while Maimi's scrubs played, the main starting linuep for Milwaukee DID!

Why is Milwaukee so bad? Can anyone who actually watches them on a regular basis explain this to me (assuming any of you exist)? I mean, they have talent. Bogut isn't a superstar, but he isn't bad. Redd is a very good player, as is Charlie and Mo and Yi... Is it because they don't play defense well in the East? Is it coaching? Is it just that they are young? It boggles my mind...

I've wondered the same question for a while now. They most definately need an athletic shot-blocker, rebounder that can do a little more than just dunk. Maybe not a star, but a Rasheed-type. Anthony Randolph could be a nice add for them via the draft. This team doesn't seem like it should be that far off from being a quality seed in the Eastern Playoffs, but they just don't quite work. I still think Yi was a wasted pick.

I think there are a lot of people including NBA GMs that thought the Bucks would be much better this year.

I'm guessing it has to go back to defense. Redd is no defensive ace and Mo Williams has athleticism and quickness but little defensive discipline. Desmond Mason is solid defensively but at 6-5 even with long arms he has a size disadvantage on most nights. Both Villanueva and Bogut are decent rebounders, but neither is very good defensively. And, I would imagine that collectively, they are even worse when it comes to team defense.

And, maybe it's a lack of iden y. I think Mo Williams and Charlie Villanueva fit better in an uptempo fast break type team, while Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut are more traditional half court type players. Perhaps they struggle with iden y there.

Those are just two guesses. But, they really should have been better this season.

I think Redd was known for his defense in college, he was very good. Shooting was a secondary thing for him then. Maybe it was a different player, but I could of sworn it was Michael Redd.

That's a great point. I think Redd could fit into the transition game, but may not be as effective. He'd certainly have a better time than Bogut would. Maybe they should attempt to trade Yi with Bogut for an additional top-10 1st this year and a future 1st in a few years? I think there best bet is up tempo as most of their best players seem to fit that mold, throwing Mason into the mix with Williams and Villanueva. What happened to Simmons? Is he even still playing? I know he's injury plagued, but he's comletely fallen off the map.

They have alot of fundamentally flawed players, a selfish shoot first "all-star" and their used to be dumbass GM hired a horrible coach.

No Defense no rebounding no chemistry no passing.

Mo Williams is not a point-guard.

So it would seem that the Bucks organization tried to address some needs at GM and HC. Any thoughts on whether or not this solves those problems?

Personally, I can't see it getting any worse.

With Carlise as coach, they may have a more half-court game implemented, and may force guys to play some D.

Carlisle is a very good coach that was sabataged in his two stops. His teams have always played up to their talent. A rift with ownership in Detroit may have cost him a true le run, and having Artest and Stephen Jackson in 2005 just killed those later Pacers teams.

When he's had young talent, he's developed it. When he's had skilled/sane talent, he's won.

    No idea on Hammond.
