If they beat NO on Wednesday, expect all Mavs fans to predict a le.
the Mavs lost two close games but im not worried one bit about the team, but im more worried about stupid ing Dallas fans that always manage to cause distractions for the teams by creating a bunch of bull overreactions that in turn leads to tons of questioning by the media, which ultimately is a distraction they dont need. they know they have the playoffs wrapped up, and Avery is really managing their minutes. It will be different when the playoffs come and all the starters are playing 40 minutes a game. For the most part, our starters have been playing some very effective, efficient minutes in such limited spurts and roles. I'm very happy with that, and even though it would have been nice to win these games, it is not that big of a deal. The Portland game kinda annoyed me for a second, but I wasn't expecting them to win the Seattle game, considering it might be the last game ever for the Supersonics to play in Seattle. They played their ass off, while the Mavs clearly knew that the game didnt matter much to them. Besides, if they were truly trying to win the game, they would not have had Eddie Jones in the lineup at the end. It would have been Jason Terry.
I'm not worried one bit.
If they beat NO on Wednesday, expect all Mavs fans to predict a le.
lol its true they will.
but ive stuck with the same predictions, so no one can say that i've been jumping ship a whole bunch, unlike almost all mavs fans here except me and Dirk Nowitzki.
Do you not realize that if we beat the blazers or the sonics we probably would have clinched the 7th seed? We would probably have ended up playing the Hornets which would be very tough but it would be winnable. Now we have a chance to end up facing the lakers which I personally believe there is no hope. Remember last year when we had a game against Golden State at the end of the season, if we had won that game we would have faced the clippers. But thanks to pathetic coaching decisions that game was not taken seriously similar to the past two games. You guys do remember how last season ended for us right? If we lose vs NO on Wed get ready to weep in the playoffs.
still not worried. they will be fine.
I've predicted failure for a long time now. I still stand by it.
The Kidd trade gives me a glimmer of hope, but not even Jason Kidd can resurrect these guys.
Avery still needs to be fired and Jet/Josh/Stack all need to be traded once the season is over.
And another problem imo Is Kidd. I love this dude but seriously how can his shooting be this bad? The fact that he scores so low will put even more pressure on Dirk in the playoffs. In so many close games this season I barely remember that Kidd is on the floor in the 4th. When he scores 4 points on 2-7 and we end up losing by 4 don't you guys think that his shooting has made the difference between a win and a loss? I don't hate the trade but I must admit sometimes it pisses me off.
I dont mind Kidd not being able to score well. But Jason Terry needs to be on the floor, in crunchtime. Not Eddie Jones.
An aggressive Kidd is a good Kidd, even when he's missing. He should be attempting a minimum of 10 FG a game regardless of how he's shooting. It definitely pisses me off when he won't shoot.
Didn't Jason Terry miss that WIDE open three last night in crunchtime?
It looked like Howard was going to be limited by Avery with his return, but this team still looks to be far too reliant on Dirk to have any success. It was great when some of the other guys were stepping up in his stead, but last night it looked like it had all season - 4 heads standing around, waiting for Dirk to score.
You can see that Kidd, when he's determined, can get down in there and score. But we only see that about 3 times a game and then that drive is abandoned entirely.
Howard was rocking balls when Dirk was out. Maybe that bruise is still bothering him, but if goes back to that attack, attack, attack mentality that he had when he was the "guy", this team goes far.
Avery needs to figure out what he's doing with the center position. Either play the ing guy or don't. And quit ing around with your damn rotations. Should we really expect to see this much of Devean George, Eddie Jones and Malik Allen in the playoffs?
When he passes off wide open Jump shots it hurts the team. Can't he at least develop a floater or something, or some sweet spot on the floor? His shooting is pissing me the off.
I wouldn't mind seeing Eddie out there for a little bit because when he's having a good night, he can provide some quality bench minutes. George & Allen contribute exactly to this team.
I'm going to say that half of his missed shots are attempted alley-oops that can be blamed on the other player. Makes me feel a little bit better about things.
And if Avery brings Erick Dampier or Dirk out on the perimeter for another double-team, I just may go to the AAC and assassinate that mother er. That strategy has failed miserably and HE KEEPS ING FORCING IT.
Avery is KILLING this team. Still.
And while I appreciate his 2 or 3 weeks of inspired play after the Kidd trade, we can all go back to calling him Ericka. That guy briefly forgot his role on the team as a money-sucking leech who contributes jack , but it looks like he figured it out again.
IMO the lakers arent a bad matchup at all. Dirk has a history of owning Pau Gasol and since Bynum will not be ready for the playoffs, Eric Dampier is good enough to man the center position. There are 3 very good players (Terry, JHo, and Kidd) out at the perimeter and Kobe can only guard one of them, so the others will abuse the likes of Fisher and Vujacic. and im really amazed by Tyronne Lue's performance, i was wrong that he wont fit into the Dallas team.
Sometimes it happens. Not everyone ALWAYS hits those. Not even Kobe. In fact, I sometimes think Kobe shoots 3s better with a hand in his face, than when wide open.
But more often than not, Jason Terry has hit those for us. Don't forget how he practically won the Houston series for us a couple years ago.
Cosigned. Anybody who thinks Jason Kidd is the problem and not Avery/Josh/Jet/Stack needs to pass me what they're smoking.
The Mavs would have a great chance against the Lakers if the games only lasted 46 minutes. However, since it comes down to crunchtime execution, I have to go with the Lakers.

Yeah it would be nice to have a point guard that could get some easy baskets in the paint. Huh.
It will be nice to have a PG that won't let Baron Davis assrape him.
We should get rid of Dirk to than since Stephen Jackson owned him as well.![]()
