You'll need about a $150 dollar video card (at the least) that has output for 1080p HDMI. All you need then is a 1080p tv.

WQUXGA 3840×2400, 9.2 megapixil, used only, 3860 x 2160 new.

The QXGA standard starts at 2048 x 1536:

QXGA 2048 x 1536 (4:3 ratio)
WQXGA 2560 x 1600 (8:5)
QSXGA 2560 x 2048 (5:4)
WQSXGA 3200×2048 (25:16)
QUXGA 3200×2400 (4:3)
WQUXGA 3840×2400 (5:4)

Of these, the WQUXGA (Wide Quad Ultra Extended Graphics Array) is obviously the best resolution. They are apparently no longer in production since January 2007. Good luck finding one. My guess is there were not enough sales for how soon they were released. You can find these resolutions in the following:

BM T221 (models DG1, DG3, DG4, DG5),

Iiyama AQU5611DTBK, ViewSonic VP2290b

ADTX MD22292B and IDTech MD22292 (models B0, B1, B2, B5, C0, C2)

There is still another one that has a 3860 x 2160 resolution, the EYELCD 56 QUAD HD.

Just a quick look, I found the Dell 3008WFP, 30" wide screen. It has a resolution of 2560 x 1600. You can probably find several models if you look. Just search for "QSXGA," "WQSXGA," etc. This is similar to the ones in NASpur's link. There is also the Apple Cinema M9179LL/A

There is also a HXGA (hex instead of quad) standard, but no single monitor support it. You need multiple monitors to support these resolutions and higher:

It's all about pixel resolution.

I've had the Apple 30 inch Cinema Display for almost 2 years and am so impressed by the 2560 x 1600 picture, I can't even look at the HDTVs they try to sell in stores for the same price. (Forget the 1080i models, unless you like staring at big-ass pixel resolutions of 1280×1080, 1440×1080, or at best 1920×1080 split into two 540-line fields.)

Outside of a front row seat at your local imax theater projecting 70mm film, the 30 inch 2560 x1600 monitors is the best image you're gonna get... so long as you have a graphics card that can handle it.

Then again, Apple has had this model out for at least 3 years. So my guess is it won't be too long before Apple (or one of their compe ors) comes out with an even bigger screen with higher resolution to match.
