Spurs fans seek divine intervention

It’s do or die for the Spurs on Thursday after getting stung by the Hornets yet again.
Fans feeling panicked about a needed win are hoping prayer will be their saving grace.
Marie Davila is a Spurs fanatic. Her whole family is, even the dog.
The Davilas can only stand for the Spurs to win. When they don’t, there’s a bit of cursing involved.
The Davilas are throwing Hail Marys, others are turning to the Virgin Mary.
"Faith can do anything basically, and that's what people put into these candles,” Papa Jim’s Botanica employee Yuliana Gomez said.
At Papa Jim’s Botanica, prayer candles are sold to help you lose weight, to stop your man from fooling around, to get money, and even you help the Spurs win.
Staff says they work.
"Yesterday, we didn't turn on our candles, and we feel guilty for that,” Gomez said.
The candles are so popular, there was only one left by the time the shop closed on Wednesday.
"They're buying the oil, the candles, the incense; they just want everything to help out the Spurs,” Gomez said.
The Davilas don’t have the candle, but they are asking God to keep his eye on the Spurs.
"They can they shoot the ball good, get some blocks,” Pedro Davila said.
And they also believe God has just got to be a Spurs fan.
"It's great, it's awesome to be a spurs fan,” Pedro Davila said.
Good old fashioned prayer vs. Voodoo.
Hopefully the good guys win.
With the PaPa's candles, Heath's daggers, we are bound to overule, the Hornets' Gris, Gris, mojo b.s.![]()
The question isn't, whether God is on our team's side.
It's if our team and our fans are on God's side.
If angels in the outfield taught us anything it's that God won't win you championships, you have to do it on your own. Then get you and your buddy adopted by the coach which in the end made the flagrant cheating during the season ok.
