Yeah, my buddy has a PS3 and it's good as well, but I'm a gamer. I like games and that's why I'm loyal to the 360. I just got GTA4 2 weeks ago and only played a few hours..guess I'll have to wait. No worries though.
I have a buddy whose 360 gave him the red rings of death on the night he bought Grand Theft Auto 4.
I heard that the game also froze PS3's as well....interesting. But it was on the fritz for a few months now. Wouldn't shut down completely and needed to be powered down a few times before the fan would shut down. I also has a CD in the machine at the time, so not really worried that the game ed it up. Still sucks though.
PS3's GtA freezing problem has something to do with the network, if you want to play it single player, don't have it plugged in to the net. as for the three rings of death THATS WAT YOU GET LAKER FAN.
I don't know if there is more than one coffin center (ours is in the south texas valley somewhere) but I had mine back within 8 or 9 days a couple of months ago. The wait isn't long at all.
Cool, I'm in Calgary, Alberta...so hopefully it doesn't take to long. Shipping should be same if it's in North America.
The ONLY repair center is in McAllen, and I live out in Seguin. When mine died I got it back in 5 days including the time it took to get the box![]()
you'd think ing bill gates would have fixed the problem already if he gave a ...
is the xbox360 going to ever get blueray or is that proprietary bull going to extend into eternity for ps3?
i'm not forking over a god damn penny till the is fixed to my satisfaction. i know the billionaire couldn't give less of a , but he's not getting my $300 bux until he makes it right...
Wrong. Mcallen is the only center in the states, all Canadian consoles are shipped to a facility in alberta and all are exchanges in that region, not repaired. turn around is longer in Canada too. Sorry.
Nice Mike D'Antoni signature
Isn't the problem pretty much fixed??? I haven't heard of any of the new consoles dying lately - just the launch-age ones, which obviously aren't all fixed.
I read engadgethd.com all the time and there's been information about the blu-ray stuff getting closer and closer for the 360 - http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/03/06...360-blu-ray-d/
The deal with blu-ray is this. There is no way Microsoft goes to sony to make their games for them so you won't actually ever see blu-ray drives in 360's. But, microsoft does realize that people expect their console to play blu-rays, thus they will soon be releasing add-on external blu-ray drives. It sucks because my x-box is going to die soon and though I'd rather replace it with another 360, I'm pissed because PS3 has internal bluray and wireless. Why I should have to spend an additional $200-$300 to get blu-ray and wireless is beyond me, but I'll do it. microsoft.
And if it were me I would just take a bong snap, tear that apart and try to fix it. It won't work, but what have you got to lose?
thats happened to me....twice.
360's will one day have a blu ray drive. book it. google it.
im on my 3rd one, my friend has gone through so many he's forgotten the number
Is there anyone who owned a 360 since it was first released that hasn't gotten the RROD?
There may be a few like that, but for the most part the launch batch was a pile of and sounded like plane engines when they were on. The quality of the 360's over the last near 3 years has improved a lot.
I'm on my second 360 after mine died last august.
I got mine on launch day and it lasted until this past March or so... so almost 2 1/2 years. I played the crap out of it but I also took very good care of it... so it seems the RROD might simply be inevitable for the initial release 360's... or those in the first 2 years or so.
Oh yeah! your right, thanks for the correction!![]()
BTW I dont know if this is true, but I have never heard of the Elite or the Halo 3 edition having that problem....maybe they finally did fix it??![]()
