I'll be honest, the Spurs just flat out look like they are out of gas. It's not that they aren't trying, you can see the frustration, but "it's" just not there.

I don't particularly believe that the Lakers are outplaying the Spurs, it's more like the Spurs are underplaying the Lakers.

Eventually after so many games, players and teams just wear down and run out of gas. I don''t know if this is what is happening to the Spurs, if it's just temporary or not, I know they look just completely gassed. Even should they go on to win it all this season...there's no way there going to have anything left after a summer of international ball, for next season.

If it should be over...if the Spurs are finally out of gas, at least as they are currently constructed...and let's face it, we all know the day is coming soon, then I just want take my hat off to the Spurs, to Pop, to Tim Duncan, Manu, Bruce and Parker and all the other guys, and thank them for a job well done.

I'd rather tip my hat than trash them, because they've been one of a basketball team.

Hey I know they can come back and win the series, they just did it in the last one.

But after a 30 point loss you can either trash them, or you can praise them and I am choosing to praise them. I don't feel like trashin' em.

Well sure. It's been one of a ride. Given their history and that TD is 32 and TP is 26, it certainly isn't over.

I'm not worried in the slightest, this team has won way too many championships in recent years for "worry" to ever the word that describes this feeling. It's more like a case of you know it's not going to last forever...and it's already lasted one of a long time.

I just realize that now, or next season, this team as it is currently constructed is going to run out of gas.

And make no mistake about it...the Spurs are still definitely feeling the effects of that Hornet series...not to mention the short turnaround.

10 years as the best franchise in Pro Sports...that's a pretty damn good 10 years.

I think we're seeing a changing of the guard.

Lakers will dominate the NBA for the next few years, they're that good.

Wasn't it nice of the NBA to scheduled game 7 for Monday when they could have played Sunday?

I agree for the most part. The Lakers aren't outplaying us. We are just not producing. Going 9-minute stretches with the only 2 players scoring being Duncan and Parker is not the way to win ball-games. We should not be playing 2-on-5 like the Hawks and Cavs did against Boston.

I also think Pop made some of the worst adjustments ever. For the first 3 quarters of game 1, we did very well, but collapsed in 4th quarter with stretches similar to the 9-minute stretch mentioned above.

So why did Popovich change and suddenly tried to make Horry and Vaughn the go-to men? Was he drunk or something? What did Horry do to warrant him getting more playing time than Kurt Thomas?

they should atleast be a 2 day break from one city to another in wcf
this would help the quality of basketball being played

I have nothing to say to what I just witnessed, really. No excuses. No conspiracies. The Spurs just look flat out gassed.

The only question I would ask is if Jordan's Bulls, Magic's Lakers or Russell's Celtics ran out of gas on their way to repeating.

It would have been really REALLY nice to escape Game 1 with a win. But we've been here before. The Lakers are a quality opponent but it's not over. The Spurs are capable of outplaying this team.

Maybe there's something about yellow road arenas.

Yeah, I mean, how weird for the NBA to schedule a game on a Sunday. [/sarcasm]
