Tom Orsborn: Gamblers have faith in Spurs

MARINA del REY, Calif. - There are plenty of reasons for gamblers to pick the Lakers tonight, beginning with the fact Las Vegas oddsmakers have established them as eight-point home favorites in Game 5 tonight.

The last time these teams met at the Staples Center, the Lakers crushed the Spurs by 30 points. That overwhelming victory kept the Lakers undefeated at home this postseason. For the Spurs, it was their sixth loss in eight road 2008 playoff games.

Yet those facts haven't prevented the Spurs from getting more support than the Lakers from gamblers.

According to Wagerline.com, the Spurs have received 62.5 percent of the picks against the point spread. That's down from 63.3 percent yesterday, but still a healthy number.
