It was game 6 of the 2002 WCF. Lakers facing elimination at the hands of the Kings. As usual, I was hoping for ANYONE to beat the Lakers. Just to double check my facts I found the recap of this game on CNNSI.com. Here's a little excerpt.

Los Angeles went nearly six minutes without a field goal down the stretch in the fourth quarter, but made 18 free throws over the final 6:21 to hold off the Kings. Bryant made four free throws in the final 19.8 seconds for the Lakers, who shot a jaw-dropping 27 free throws in the fourth.

Pretty sickening numbers. And the thing is, the Kings didn't even whine as much then as the Lakers are now...

Everyone knew how this game was going to go. Refs giving Lakers huge opportunity to stay in series. Celts not playing well but hanging around. Look to Celts to get hot in 2nd half and blow this out.

Although I refuse to watch any games, here's to hoping Boston can come back in this one and make this series quick and painful.

Here's the scary part. I started this thread BEFORE I heard that Tim Donoghue claimed that the game was fixed!

Donoghue will say anything at this point to save his ass, truthful or not. He's a degenerate gambler with his hand caught in the cookie jar. I hope he rots in the joint.

I'd like to see one of the "letters" he claimed the league sent the refs...

anyone could point to a horribly officiated game and say it was "fixed". Thing is, in game 7, Sacramento had plenty of chances to win it from the line, but they collectively CHOKED from the line and the Lakers won it in OT.

Idiot. Answer how many of the "18 FTs in the final 6:21" were off intentional fouls

You don't know because you are a dumb , plain and simple.

Watch the games, analyze the games, then post. Or just read all of my posts as a primer (that's like a study guide) to work from to start.

is that the Lakers/Kings game where Bibby or Christie got fouled as if they were hit by a truck with 10 seconds left and the refs called nothing? That foul was even more obvious than the Fisher foul on Barry this year. The refs just swallowed their whistles.

Yes the Kings missed some FTs and a few wide open shots late in that game....but at the same time, the Lakers were handed FTs the entire 4th quarter.....many of those fouls were ticky tack at best.

Now I hate both teams....Always hated the Lakers.....and I couldnt stand those whiny, sissified, flopping punks from SacTown with their cowbells and their heffer women......but LA was handed the keys to that game by the refs and they ran with it.
