Trying to settle a debate with a Red Wings fan, and need your opinions.

    Who is better?

    1999 Stars for sure.

Because Red Wings didn't win the Cup in 2007

Man that’s a good question…at first thought I wanted to say Red Wings easy but the Stars played that suffocating "dig and chase" defense that you don't see as much anymore at that level. Craig Ludwig would sacrifice his body and lay out in front of a puck before he would give up on a defensive play. Modano was so fast he could cut between two defenders before they had a chance to stop him...

But I'd probably give it to Detroit in 7.

This Detroit team is immensely talented and could be the beginning of a dynasty, but Dallas was a dominant team on a mission that year. Modano, Hull, Hatcher, etc, would not be denied. It would be close but I give it to Dallas.
The Stars defensive power play was one of the best in history and they rarely turned the puck over. Man those were good times.
