Lakers-Celtics Series Overrated

It's ridiculous how the media is bringing this Lakers-Celtics rivalry. Its really no big deal. Why wasn't the Lakers-76ers Brought up when they faced each other in 2001? Afterall Lakers and Philadelphia faced each other 3 times in the 80s....They faced the Celtics 3 times in the finals too... Why make a big deal?

and what made those series so great was Bird vs Magic. not celtics vs lakers.

yea its history, but its not about basketball anymore. its about money and promotions. a true basketball fan knows what MAGIC and BIRD had was friggin epic. not unless Lebron or someone else on kobes level will face him in the finals, then i will undersand the hype. but all this hype is about the past and money. its not about basketball anymore.

Spurs vs Pistons was great and strategic basketball. too bad the media doesnt like these markets. its not about basketball anymore

Look, that basketball part will take care of itself starting tomorrow. The rest of the media is all pomp and really means nothing and has no impact on the series. There's a reason people remember Magic and Bird because of their initial battles in College and their tilt in the NBA Finals. The hype back then was same as it is now. However, the games will actually bring the drama and "basketball" as you call it. Why let the media make up your mind for you and get spoiled by the overall hype. Enjoy the games and everything will be fine.

These are the two best teams in the league this year.......Its going to be GREAT. I am excited. I am think Celtices will win but certainly won't be surprised if The Lakers do it.
