As of 4 p.m. EDT today, the Celtics plane is still on the ground in Los Angeles due to mechanical issues with the plane.
At 5:30 p.m., Celtics radio announcer Cedric Maxwell reported on sports radio WEEI that a 757 airplane has been flown in to take the Celtics back to Boston on a direct flight.
Celtics guard Ray Allen, who left immediately after last night game due to an illness with one of his children, is expected to play Tuesday night in Boston. His child is expected to be OK.
Now how do the Celtics get a plane flown in to take their players home within an hour and the Spurs get screwed in New Orleans?
Nah, their charter company went bankrupt and ceased operations on May 31. They were running out the clock.
BTW, the Lakers used the same company, idiot.
Surely the Spurs could have chartered another plane and had it flown in right? What gives? They aren't locked into their contracted company are they in the event of mechanical failure like this right? All they had to do is call some Airline and rebook them all on a flight out of there to LA. book the entire plane and have it flown in just like the Celtics.
Do you think that is easy to do in the middle of the night? And what is the advantage if your original plane will be fixed in the morning anyway (the one with 59 first-class seats that every other airplane made obviously has)?
They went through the NBA to get it done.
Damn, that's how you get owned.![]()
Look at post #5. Owned!![]()
Not to mention it's a lot easier to find an available charter at LAX than at the podunk NO airport. Crimeny.
