Odom is a poor man's Garnett, but like him, he shrinks from pressure. He's a loser, although talented. He's the kind of player you only get to eat regular season minutes so that your pressure guys are fresher for the playoffs. If he were making anywhere between maybe $7-9M, he'd be fairly compensated and worth maybe pursuing, but you don't need to be going after cap killing contracts like his $13M for players who don't produce under pressure, EVER.

Odom probably couldn't fix that, but he brings a lot to the table with shooting, rebounding, passing and defending. Plus, he can play a lot of positions. Isn't he the long 3 that the Spurs have been looking for - kind of like Tayshaun Prince? It was very useful having matchup nightmares with Turkoglu. He could end up being like Horry, minus the clutch factor but with more mobility. He's only 28 and entering a basketball player's prime.
