The definition of "irony".
A fire swept through a North Side apartment building Thursday morning.
The fire started around 7:30 a.m. at the Burning Tree Apartments in the 14,400 block of Jones Maltsberger, south of Thousand Oaks.
At one point 22 fire units were dispatched to fight the flames. The fire destroyed at least 2 units at the complex and several others were damaged by smoke and water.
Four families who lived in the apartment building will now need to find another place to live.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters rescued several pets who were inside the burning building.

Should the name of the apts now be changed to Burning Roof Apartments?
I am glad that no lives were lost, human and animal alike. I hope the displaced families get a new apt soon.

Irony is describes an event or situation that is the opposite of expectation.
There is no expectation of NO fire at BT appts, so the fire is only a co-incidence with the BT name.
If expected BT appts to burn down, and they didn't, that would be ironical.
Irony would be the expectation that anyone using "ironical" would misuse it, when in fact the person uses it correctly. "She used irony and ironical correctly. How ironical!"
