i have high hopes, but i will go into it thinking it will suck hoping to be pleasantly surprised. iron man kicks ass.
Man, if they do Iron Man right, it should be one of the better comic book movies to come out.
Another Hulk movie and The Mummy 3 in June 08.

From what I've seen so far of Iron Man, it looks like they are doing ok *cross my fingers*
They're gonna rape and defile Iron Man, just like they've done every other Comic Book movie. Tony Stark is going to be played by Antonio Banderas with a mustache probably and it's gonna suck. So far The Dark Knight looks SICK. Thank God they didn't up one of my all time favorite superhero: Batman.
Actually, I kinda like the guy who they cast for Tony Stark: Robert Downey Jr. The cast pic they released a couple of weeks ago looked pretty decent actually.
Rumor is there's gonna be a DK teaser on The Simpsons movie.
Won't believe that RUMOR till I see it SHH reported it and they have been wrong many times before esspecially about movie trailers but yeah forget about Iron Man The Dark Knight owns 2008

Christian Bale is like money in the bank when it comes to movies, brah.
Even though I don't agree with what they're doing with the movie, I'll see that for sure. Bale = great actor.
Iron Man was a to begin with, so let them him up. They ed up the friggin HULK in like 2003, so after that the floodgates have been open. Honestly, did anyone have any interest in the movie Electra beyond Jennifer Garner's long slender body?

While I do agree with you about Batman looking SICK I disagree with you about Iron Man if you have ever read the comics Tony Stark looks hispanic if you will he has black long hair and a goetee and Robert Downy Jr. is playing him which is a pretty good pick
But its common knowledge Tony Stark was a successful entrepeneur/businessman/executive who probably started out as a yuppie from former yuppie parents, that just does not fit the bill as a hispanic, if anything he was half italian.
Plus Banderas has not made a good movie without Selma Hayek's breasts ever.
Close enough. Downey should play Xanatos in the Gargoyles movie, if they ever made one.
The first one stayed true to the comics, with a couple of exceptions:
1) They tried to do the Prelude to the 13 nights of Halloween storyline, but incorporated Scarecrow, he should have been in Arkham Asylum himself.
2) Ra's Al Ghul isn't European and he isn't that young, he should look MUCH OLDER.
3) Holmes character, Rachel Dawes, is not needed and isn't in the comic book and served no real purpose. If they wanted Batman to have a love interest go with the Comic book and use Ra's Al Ghul's daughter.

I was being sarcastic when I said Banderas, like they'd purposly use a bad actor with a thick accent to play Tony Stark.
Don't you find it odd that DC comics seem to find a better audience at the movies than Marvel? Spiderman is an outlier so exclude that for a second, it raped on kids unfimiliar with storylines pre1999 anyways.
Do you think its cuz of the nature of the DC superheroes or luck with the directors and cast?
I'd rather see Bale as swamp thing than the giant scottish who played hulk, only jennifer conolley swimming naked in the ocean could have saved that movie.
The Spider Man movies, they're the real deal-- they SUCK and I hate them. There are way too many things in one movie. The producers were probably smoking weed, I mean they include Venom, the Sandman, and the Green Goblin? Holy , that's worse than the Sinister Six. And I could have accepted the fact that Venom and Sandman, but Green Goblin? He was in the last two movies, give him a break or something. I didn't like Toby playing Peter Parker, that just ed up for me as well. It basically just took characters from the comic book and made it's own story, which sucked.
I heard Superman Returns sucked ass, I haven't seen it so I don't know, but the only comic book movie that I have liked is Batman Begin. So far all the other ones have failed miserable.
Captain America is coming out with his own film too and the Avengers as well. Captain America gets two movies.
Always go in with low expectations and assume it will be non-canonical and you'll be happy.
You do mean the comics right because if you are talking about DC movies vs Marvel movies then Marvel slowly rapes DC and then squirts their load all over DC's face the first two Spider-Man movies alone made a combined 1.5 billion dollars and while spiderman 3 got alot of criticism it has made over 800 mil worldwide and don't forget about X-men which has also done well DC really only has Batman and Superman they are even going to make a Teen ans movie just because they are scrambling to find good enough heroes to make movies off of

that is one of the main reasons why DC hopes that Chris Nolan does Batman justice which he has so far and that is one of the reasons why DC has given Bryan Singer a second chance to make a more action Superman movie
live action is just not the way to go. you could make kick ass, faithful, animated movies with high profile voices at a fraction of the cos and the comic nerd lobby would go in droves. look at how much the clone wars cartoons kicked ass vs the new star wars movies.
DC has tons of characters they could make movies out of, but a little uknown fact is that DC doesn't appeal to people as Marvel does. DC is OLD SKOOL so the generation that liked DC comics -- they're all dead, some people still like DC, but they only know two characters: Batman and Superman. I guess you could say that Marvel is for all the kids who blindly go and watch anything during the summer and DC's main audience is too old for them to a make a movie out of.

Exactly but all this live action superhero movies really comes from the success that Spider-man has had suffice to say that not every live action superhero movie can be as good and profitable as Spider-man
Correction: Banderas has not made a good movie without Salma Hayek's breasts ever IN AMERICA.
His career in Spain, especially in Pedro Almodovar's early films, is quite remarkable.
every live action superhero movie is very profitable. even if it bombs in the US they bank outside of the US, especially in the East. that's why they keep being made.
