Will the Dubs even bother to play him this season?

This team has a chance to finish 14th in the west.

I've been posting for a month that they're staying closer to 14th than 7th. After tonight, I think they'll be closer to 13th than 8th. (Maybe the same, but same idea.) The way Portland is playing with Lillard in God Mode, and the way NO is playing with Zion back, it's going to be hard for the Spurs to finish above 10th. They could do it, but they're going to have to step up their game just to do that much.


The problem is, Minny is now in hard tank mode and there is a serious tank-a-thon going on in the East already. So it's also going to be hard for the Spurs to finish with better than about the 11th draft pick. They could do it, but they'll have to seriously work at it.

GSW is in a race to the bottom. They aren't going to endanger that. So far there isn't an obvious franchise college player, so they might wind up with the second worst record, but they won't win enough games to go higher than that.

I've called for the tank before, but I really am writing this off as a lost season now.

I'm ok with extending DeMar as long as the deal is reasonable.

I'm open to trading anyone. We don't have what it takes and won't for a few years yet. The goal now is to amass picks.

I'm afraid you're right. I'm like Fox Mulder - I want to believe. But he's not the same guy up here.

The only hope I'm holding out at all is that this team is in such complete disarray that it makes everyone look bad - but especially the lower-tier guys. I think you could put Metu on this Laker team and he'd look good enough.
