Hey genious back "he's stuck behind Jamison and Buttler" of yours.
Then explain to us the Wiz' depth you mentioned.
Jeffries would seem to fit the profile of the big 3 who could switch to the 4 the Spurs are looking for this summer.

Jeffries is a nice player.
He played Lebron well in the playoffs, without anybody behind him as a big man. He could really turn into a viable replacement for Bowen.
I'm just asking a question: why does he only play 25 minutes per game? Do you have an answer? Other than "he is in foul trouble" with 2.9 per game, that is...
Foul trouble is the main reason. Atkins, DA, Hayes, Buttler had to play minutes earlier in the season (smaller lineup, chemistry reasons). Arenas and Jamison play ridiculous minutes(someone's got to give), so Haywood, another foul magnet along with Jared didn't play heavy minutes. Atkins eventually got shipped to Memphis, and Buttler got most of Hayes minutes.
I am confident that Jeffries would be more than a SOLID pickup. Signing Scola needs to take some risk but signing Jeffries is almost risk free and yield decent return. Coupled with RJ at LLE, I think the team is retooled.
RJ and LLE? (who?)
I agree about Jeffries. The guy has decent offensive skills, but his defense and length is lovely. He's a solid NBA player...and I think we ould steal him from Washington.
Back to Jones.
I think he would fit the Spurs' system rather well. Athletic 3 with a solid 3 point stroke and rebounding ability. It would be nice if the Spurs could get him through a S&T, maybe by offering the expiring contract of Williams + cash to pay some part of his salary + a future 2nd round pick. If not, the Spurs have other tradeable assets such as Scola's rights and Beno to use.
Agree
Charlotte wants vets with a good at ude. Williams is far from being that, Barry seems to be way more attractive for them.
IMO, Barry for Juamine Jones S&T is a better for Charlotte.
We cna only sign him with a part of the MLE ($2M for Javtokas and $3M for Jones).
Sure. Then maybe you could swing a S&T deal with the Hornets of Beno+Williams+future 2nd(?) for Claxton. Your MLE remains intact to go after a rebounding big (ie Evans).
We'll see what happens with Javtokas. Maybe they will use part of the MLE for him. If they can get him with the LLE, that makes other moves easier.
hah....udonis would be a of a pickup....but im sure we'd be in trouble for kidnapping him. haha. but as for jumaine jones, the idea of getting him would be exciting, because 6'8 is NOT small for a small forward. he is long, athletic, and he might be somewhat streaky at times, but he has a decent 3 point shot. Vladimir Radmanovic would be intersting to see here, but he would be too expensive

Great, Jumaine Jones to Phoenix. I know, 2011.Free agency
The Suns' group of free-agent targets continues to dwindle after Detroit's Lindsey Hunter and Utah's Matt Harpring agreed to deals that will keep them with their teams at more than what Phoenix was offering. Hunter will get a two-year, $4.5 million deal and a front-office job upon retirement. Harpring gets $25 million over four years. The next free-agent candidates at backup point and wing could be Jannero Pargo and Jumaine Jones. The Suns also could try Leandro Barbosa at point and bring back Eddie House.
If I'm not mistaken, the guy can get VERY hot from 3 point range. His avg's may not show it, but the guy can heat up quickly. I would think that in a system like ours his 3 pt avg would increase by at least 25 basis points (from his career high of .391). I don't have a clue about his at ude however.
so if we offered jeffries MLE, wiz still can counter offer, but whether jefferies sign it or not is another question, does he have to sign with the wiz? or he can just pull a boozer and sign with us?
