I'm just a little baffled that the media isn't reporting anything positive like how fast people are recovering from this. Googled it last night because I was curious as to what's happening with everyone who is infected but aren't dying, i.e the overwhelming majority, and there's nothing clear or concise. *SHRUG* Just keep scaring the stupid stupider, I guess.

This virus is not his fault. Our being a society built on principles of individual freedom might actually hurt in this situation.

I posted earlier on the guy in quarantine in Nebraska. Been 30 days and he's still testing positive. He's never felt ill other than a 103F fever the first day.
It does appear it takes a long time to clear this bug. From the studies done it seems 7-10 days is roughly the period where the body produces the cytokine storm and sends them into critical condition.
I keep seeing this take as though it should be news that a virus with less than 100% mortality rate will have survivors.

It's not a strawman, dumbass. The threshold at which a virus has survivors is below 100% - meaning, unless there is a 100% mortality rate for a disease, people are going to survive it. So crying about how the media isn't reporting about people surviving COVID-19 is basically like saying you don't understand mortality rates.
The 2% number is fairly well known at this point, so I'm sorry if you're disappointed that I didn't care to include it in my post.

It is a strawman. No disease has 100% morality rate, but life itself does. It is newsworthy that the overwhelmingly large majority of new cases of COVID-19 will not result in death or even in serious conditions. It's just not being reported because panic sells. Keep smoking that .
