i mean, south korea did it early enough to the point where they quarantined infected before it was widespread enough to kill a lot of people. we finally caught up to them on tests per capita but after we already had 10x as many cases and 25x as many deaths per capita. that we didnt have significant amounts of testing available until the last week of march is horrendous

I never made a prediction of 150k. If you were interested in actual discussion instead of this nonsense you might understand that post. I did, and still agree, with the idea that 100k is going to happen, sadly. This "reopening" nonsense only makes that sure. We have 35k dead and we're halfway through the month only. But sure, celebrate.

We have about 2.5k deaths right now. Assuming a slow 4 day doubling time for deaths (I think it'll be faster), in ~3 weeks we hit 150k dead.
