I think why people suffering from supposed "TDS" are constantly coming at perceived Trump supporters is because they/we (including me) can't believe why any rational person would continue to support that dumbass? It really does boggle the mind. He didn't "drain the swamp," and merely filled it with sycophants, family members, and incompetents. He didn't bring much manufacturing home, and his tariffs were toothless. Apple would've been the tariff that had bite. He never came through on that infrastructure plan (and the (R)s controlled both legislative bodies for 2 years). His "economic miracle" had nothing to do with him. Growth and unemployment were already trending that way well before he announced his campaign.

Ironically, Obama was probably the most successful president in terms of cracking down on illegal immigration. Trump didn't need to play up the wall and "those evil Messicans and Hondurans are coming for your wimmin and chilren" race baiting. All that achieved was stirring up white nationalist sentiment and spawning a movement (alt right) I thought I'd never see in the US beyond the fringe. He could've silently continued Obama's immigration policies and beefed up border security without turning himself into a symbol of white nationalism.

Does it just come down to tax cuts and guns, then? I don't see the value in this guy for rational conservatives of the William F. Buckley mold. He's a populism buffoon.

I'm just curious why the Cult of 45 is so blindly attached to him despite him not living up to his promises aside from the tax cuts, that really doesn't help his base. Yes, the left is fractured. The JAMA study, sponsored by the Brazilian state of Amazonas, tracked 81 adult patients who were hospitalized with Covid-19 and was conducted between March 23 and April 5 at a medical care facility in Brazil. Researchers said 40 patients were given 450 milligrams of the drug twice on the first day and once every day for the following four days. The 41 others were given 600 milligrams twice daily for 10 days, they said. Patients were also given the antibiotic azithromycin, commonly known as a Z-Pak.

By day 13, six of the 40 patients in the low-dose group had died, as did 16 of the 41 patients in the high-dose group. Heart abnormalities were seen in 11 of the 81 patients. In addition, two patients in the high-dose group experienced ventricular tachycardia, a heart rhythm disorder.

"One can only conclude from this trial that high-dose chloroquine (and by close association, hydroxychloroquine) in combination and azithromycin and possibly oseltamivir, is potentially associated with increased mortality among patients with severe, suspected COVID-19," Dr. Stephan Fihn of Harborview Medical Center in Seattle said in an editorial published alongside the study.
