Right, it's just two different meanings of the word "racism." The issue is whether you believe the second meaning is valid. It's controversial, but there are well-reasoned objections to the "racism involves power" argument.

You can't keep asking for equality, even displaying the word in the back of player jerseys, then expect special treatment and a pass in situations like this
That's what equality is, all parties being treated fairly and in similar fashion.
I want to say that meaning is pretty widely accepted as valid though. But perhaps your experience is different. I don’t know. Honestly.
But it’s not exclusive to “racism.” It’s similar language usage with sexist, sexism.
Misogynistic words, thoughts, comments are viewed as “sexist.” It doesn’t necessarily mean they’re automatically sexism. But a company not promoting the more qualified woman over the less qualified man is “sexism.” Oppressive action or a power dynamic must exist.
I have to be honest, this match-up could basically be for the le. Though the Mavs are a little shaky in any round.
its been a good series, but if playoff p actually comes out and plays i think its over for the mavs, especially if Porzingis is hurt and doesnt play. Luka would have to have game 4 numbers and performances every game if they want to have a shot. Dallas just needs another guy that can shoot and create his own shot, most likely a 2nd option, cause i still think Porzingis should be the 3rd one.

Porzingis is not reliable as he ll always have problems with his knee. Sucks for the series.
Like i said dudes over 7 foot 2 always deal with kner feet or injuries to various lower extremities. If you cant count on porzy im the playofgs whats the point? It was a great trafe now flip him for more reliable help even if that help is less talented.

I think 7+ foot guys are more susceptible to injuries to the back, knees, and feet. But not all 7 footers get injured. Some get lucky. But I do think that once they do get a serious injury to one of those, it’s very likely they’re either lingering or recurring type injuries. Kristaps already had an ACL injury requiring surgery. He’ll likely deal with knee issues the rest of his life.
It’s one of the reasons I would try to trade Embiid if I were Philly. Embiid’s already hit the trifecta with injuries by his mid 20s. Knee and foot surgeries, a stress fracture in his lower back. His body is probably a ticking time bomb.
He's going to have a Ralph Sampson career type of trajectory.

different? sure. but its a tournament of the best basketball teams in the nba. the only difference is all the games are on a neutral site without fans. if anything, one could argue that this is the most legitimate tournament the nba has ever had as its the most neutral environment ever played it, while keeping players as mentally tested as ever in being under uncommon cir stances. also less excuses of "the grind of the season wore them out". this could arguably be one of the more impressive championships a team could win.
just because it's different, doesn't make it illegitimate. it would be one thing if every single game was played at the boston garden in front of celtics fans, or where half the teams played 80 games and the other half played 40 or something obviously one-sided like that. but there are nothing about these cir stances that favor any team.

I get your explanation and have pondered it myself. The reason that I am not sure it's a legit le is that HCA is out the window here. So what if a lower seed wins? Said lower seed didn't have to play in any hostile environments as they normally would have. Does that sorta cheapen the experience?
That's one scenario. Here's another...God forbid it happens, but this is the world we live in now. Lakers are playing the Bucks in the Finals. Lebron and AD both get the 'Rona and test positive before tipoff in GM2. Now the Bucks have to guard Markieff Morris and Jared Dudley instead. Unless of course there is some sort of provision that I don't know about delaying the finals until players clear, then I think Laker fan would be claiming the Buck's le was not legit.
