tbh, the more i see on this the more i worry for humanity and the US.
Ive been around several blocks several times, I cant think of any other country where it is somewhat normal for unarmed perps to receive a hail of bullets and for a part of the population to not only accept it but defend it! Having a weapon in the vicinity is not an excuse police officers have to put their lives at risk its part of the job. This is a text book human rights violation, one of many instances of police abuse that occurs in the US to all races but some people just want to see blood, there's no other explanation for defending a cop shooting an unarmed man 7 times in the back in front of his children.
Two nights ago, two people who pointed guns at protesters were feted as heroes at the RNC. Last night, a neo-fascist LARPing as a cop shot three people in Kenosha, killing two of them.
Today, the host of the highest rated cable TV news show in history lionized the killer. The trend is spooky.

also to add, i feel sorry for the kyle guy. i mean he's obviously not a victim here, but he totally ruined his life, and for what? what business did he protect, what did he accomplish? has to carry that guilt and the stigma, destroyed his life and his family, for what, a LARPer selfie, approval? He became exactly what he supposedly abhorred, a criminal. I hope at least that some extremists will think twice before making the same mistake but im not holding my breath
oh i agree that is a huge part of the US becoming a police state. Highest per capita incarceration rate, rampant police abuse and corruption, its been evident for decades. What i cant comprehend is how many cheerleaders they have, in the "land of the free" no less.
