I hate saying good loss, but they could have easily folded when the Pels went on that run early in the third. The team has heart and didn’t wilt on a back to back against a physical team.

Neutral court and one team not more rested and I’ll take the Spurs - good barometer of where they are right now.

Let’s hope White comes back soon as he’d tilt the scale in a game like this.

Officiating was absolutely biased for a for-sure solid NOP and SA still almost won. 29 FTs to 8 and a garbage 5-point sequence late on what was actually a NOP offensive foul. Bledsoe, Ball, Ingram, Zion, Adams with Re , Hart, Hayes off the bench is not a team at all and I feel like SA struggles in New Orleans even when the Pels aren't any good.

We still should of won....Thats what sucks

Two no calls that felt like it changed the game. Murray got hammered before the 5 point play and reffs didn't call it. Watch the replay.

Johnson driving at the end got hammered by Zeon, no call.

Again, Jak is a starting center in this league. Sure he's soft at time especially when finishing at the rim but he's solid at everything else offensively and they're better defensively when he's on the court. I really hope they can trade LMA for an asset by the deadline but i doubt it tbh

You don't get free throws when you are too afraid to take the ball into the paint. It's that simple.

I don't think you can question DD frustration. The guy never gets fouls called. Some of the contact he gets result in a flagrant foul for others. Not sure if he's on a black balled list or what. That shoulder would be an offensive foul for anyone else. the pel-refs. I'd be pissed too!

back to back. missed shots in the first half was killer. the comeback was nice to see. oh well! these losses will happen with the youngs playing big minutes. need more from Aldridge and Derozan to steady the ship when things go sloppy. Gay was great in the big brother role

The refs were pure garbage. That 5 point play was a bs sequence of bad calls. BI gets phantom touch fouls when he drives to the paint but when Keldon or any other Spurs drove they didn't get the same type of touch foul calls.

btb, I wanted the Spurs to win, but like, it's not the worst thing that they lost. They aren't going to have 72 perfect games from their young guys. I didn't like Pop going small down the stretch. I didn't like him not playing Johnson on Williamson more. But NOP is probably a top-three worst match-up for SA's small lineup, and I thought they held their own. That's not bad.

Though maybe people will start to appreciate why it's not sustainable now. I think Johnson struggled in large part because of the fatigue of guarding Zion. Obviously, that's not every PF, but if he's going to be a big offensive piece this season, he probably can't guard fours full time. Doing it two days in a row seemed to have affected his legs, which in turn removed some of his aggressiveness around the rim and caused him to miss shots he had been making. Still a good game overall.

It's funny how many folks were upset about the Spurs not tanking and not having young pieces but they also expect the young pieces SA has to win games against a solid playoff compe or and get mad when they don't.

Refs definitely sucked. The only thing more suspect than the refs are Zion's knees carrying all that weight.

I really hope that they diversify the offense a bit more when Derrick gets back. Sure, Demar has been fine in the closer role in the bubble and the first 2 games but they've got capable playmakers, especially when Derrick returns tbh.

Murray had a nice little streak, Lonnie is a good playmaker, etc.....all of that took a backseat when Derozan came back even though he was off most of the night.

Yep, last years team would have completely folded up after that NO 3rd quarter run. Even if our vets are checked out the youngsters still have allot of heart and drive in them.
