I called it an ever rising tide. That's what it is.
People are using the term waves because that's how we talk about influenza, which comes and goes seasonally. This virus obviously isn't going anywhere. The graph just shows the tide rising at varying rates but it's always rising. That will continue until everyone gets infected.

Yep I was wrong. I thought summer would have some affect on transmission like it does on the other HCoV's. I didn't know back then that seasonality would not develop until after there is a level of herd immunity.
