Not surprising. Whether through negligence, or otherwise... This was going to happen.
And later on today:
Seems like a stoppage is inevitable

I don't see how they can't at this point tbh.
Not a good sign. The season just started 3 weeks ago.
What the is waiting a week or two going to fix? They will start back up again, and it will be the same song and dance in another month.
These dumbassess scheduled a 72 game season that starts in december with COVID, Fatigue, etc.
They even scheduled dumbass back to backs.
They should have cur the games to 50ish, spread the games for less exposure and more important reduce travel.
People will still get covid this way, but it significantly reduces the chances of fans watching Luke Kennard score 60 just because theres no players around
How could the NFL, with more teams and bigger rosters, go a full season without interruptions, but the NBA needs to stop a couple of weeks in?
probably because nfl teams play once a week
less travel, only 16 games to prepare for
re ed how they thought 72 games works. Lol
Teams are travelling like crazy in a very condensed schedule. They expected things to be fine. They needed to reduce the games to 50ish
This season was a stupid idea as they planned it. They should have done it in the bubble again.
This is what I thought was going to happen in the bubble. It appears the bubble really was necessary after all.
I doubt the paused games get made up. It was hard enough to cram in 72 games and try to end the season in late summer, I don't see room to make up the games unless the end of the season gets delayed.
The NFL got almost their whole season in before the new variant, 60% more contagious, made its way to our shores.
All but two have to get made up or the NBA doesn't get paid in full on their TV deal.
They’ve got to do 70, one way or another, to pay out the local TV deals.
Shows what little I know about the TV deals. Back-to-back-to-backs and/or season going into September or October here we come, I guess. It's hard to imagine there being only one pause.
I'm sure none of the players are banging random ho's and spreading.
NBA gonna end up getting players and/or personnel killed by the Rona.
College football just played an entire season with ZERO serious hospitalizations or deaths from Covid..
As has been said in this thread, there's a lot less exposure for football players since they only have to play/travel once a week. Both the NFL and NCAA are finishing their seasons before this new variant spreads around too.
Teams only played 7-12 games, and that was once a week. Cases still popped up all over.
The Spurs have already played more games in three weeks than half of the CFB players.
Not going to buy NBA league pass this season. If there are games that will not be played it's not worth it imo.
This is probably a huge factor too.
Less time for Derrick to miss, tbh lol
Everyone cares more about money and there "freedoms"
