The contents are more or less immaterial. You have one side that's socially awkward and just want to belong to anything, thus cults are appealing. It's tribalism taken to an extreme. A good book about this social phenomenon is Roughing It by Mark Twain.
That gets matched with a person that dreams to be king, and so he demands ultimate adulation and loyalty. It's all very primitive. It's like a bad novel from the Renaissance.
Hitler was the ultimate bag and incredibly evil, but much, much more sophisticated and strategic than any of this.
