Spare me the fake outrage
You mean by hater? lol no
By the Republican Party's effort to overturn democracy? Yeah, you could say that makes me angry.
Spare me the fake outrage
"overturn democracy".. such hyperbole
Every 4 years someone is trying to take a on democracy. just recently weren't you and many others here crying about the Electoral College? You want to change the process if it helps you win. It's always about winning. Do you really expect your opponent to have a different approach? Go ahead and claim that popular vote is true democracy since that will help you feel like you're maintaining some moral high ground. You know you want to.
democracy doesnt require an electoral college. republicans were literally trying to overturn election results in various states after the fact. that's a direct assault on democracy.
but yeah if you wanted to get into what is "more" or "less" democratic i'd say the popular vote is preferable to the electoral college because only in the former does every american's vote count the same for federal elections. democrats trying to abolish the electoral college in favor of a national popular vote wouldnt be an assault on democracy, it would be an assault on the electoral college
Thanks for being so predictable.
pre-empting a valid point doesnt make it invalid
If we don't have a true democracy, how can democracy be overturned?
Why do you accept the EC results when your candidate wins but cry foul when your candidate loses? Go ahead again and claim "not me" as you step in again to be the legal counsel.
I think you enjoy getting on...
ing ridiculous argument.
How many times was the previous POTUS called an illegitimate president? How many people said he lost the election and that Putin put him into power?
Tell me about this democracy that existed suddenly on January 6th while this illegitimate POTUS was still in power. You can't, you'll blather on and on about mundane, predictable .
Yeah, four years of "muh Russia". Ignore these people.
The rules of the game are the EC. People can dislike the rules all they want, but that doesn’t change the fact they’re the rules and they’re enshrined In the cons ution. Still, striving to change the rules of the game for a more representative democracy doesn’t mean the existing system is not a “true democracy”.
You’re a ridiculous clown.
Dmc is ridiculous. You’re just a ing idiot.
Democracy lives on despite the hysteria.
It wouldn't be an assault on "democracy" of the USA union per se but it would definitely be a huge blow to the 10th Amendment and state's rights/originalist federalism in general. If you're going to go full popular vote then you might as well abolish the 10th and declare the US as a Unitary country and the states just effectively territories like provincial districts in most countries in the world.
like for example, Brexit was a national popular vote, and the pro-Brexit peeps had to overcome all of Scotland, London and the other major cities and still won the popular vote
I'm wounded.![]()
Your lack of self awareness prevents you from being wounded by anything I say.
And lack of sobriety, tbh.
I'm not a subscriber to Russiagate or Q, so what can you say that would bother me?
A: nada
You don’t have the ability to consider opinions that conflict with your worldview as legitimate. Your bias prevents you from seeing why Jan 6 was, and DJT is, a threat to our democracy even if they didn’t succeed. You’re just kind of a dumb, short, skinny, formerly “conservative” but mentally malleable based on current events drunk.
Darrin is the same guy who said we hit herd immunity in in April 2020.![]()
As always your response has absolutely nothing to do with what you quoted.
pussy. Explain why a the US doesn’t have a “true democracy” you ing hyperbolic clown.
How could it have a true democracy if Putin can put a person into the Oval Office?
WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic Rep. John Lewis says he’s doesn’t consider Donald Trump a “legitimate president,” blaming the Russians for helping the Republican win the White House.
The Georgia congressman and leader in the civil rights movement of the 1960s said he will skip next week’s inauguration of Trump at the Capitol, joining several other Democrats who have decided to boycott the historic event.
“You know, I believe in forgiveness. I believe in trying to work with people. It will be hard. It’s going to be very difficult. I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president,” Lewis said in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” that will air on Sunday.
