I hate to start a new thread, but I didn't see one about the play of Alonzo Mourning. How many damn blocks did he have? He looked like he played when he was 10 years younger. I'm happy that he got a ring.

As for the other "old timer", Gary Payton, he looks like he should have retired several years ago.

It's so cool that Zo won a ring after everything he's been through, that he is worth another thread!!!

I'm so happy for him!!! Way cool!!! From what I hear, it couldn't happen to a better guy!!!

Great way to win it too, like you say!!! He won it like the champion he is. 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 blocked shots and a lot more shots altered. He was a huge presence in the paint and Miami would not have won without Him and His contribution!!! Especially with Shaq in foul trouble!!!

He just hasn't been the same player since he left the Sonics.

In his defense he did hit a couple of clutch shots in games 3 and 5.

I'll admit that I was never a big fan of Zo's during his initial reign in Miami, but, he did earn my respect for the valiant fight he put up in returning from his kidney transplant.

Wasn't too thrilled with the way he maneuvered himself out of Toronto in the Vince Carter trade, though.

I thought he was a difference maker last night and it showed with his tenacity on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.

Anyone who watched him earlier in the season saw this Alonzo. I wouldn't be suprised if this was the last game of his career.

I love Zo's on court play. Off the court, he's an ass.

36-years-old. Two-time Defensive Player of the Year, Seven-time All-Star, 9 seasons with the Heat, an NBA Championship, career averaged of 19, 9, and 3...what does he have left to accomplish?

If he keeps playing, it'll just be because he's not ready to give it up.

Zo for flexing his muscles and other BS histrionics, esp silly for a guy of his chronological age, but I give him full credit for his hustle in the Championship game.

Zo really turned in a huge game off the bench, deserves his ring fully.

I said before the game to friends that Wade and Shaq were gonna need a lot of help to win @DAL, and they got it from Zo (8 pts, 6 RB, 5 BS in a little over 1 qtr on the court), Udonis (double double), and Walker (double double). Even Posey's single FG, a 3G in 4th qtr, was huge.

Well, I normally hate Zo'...and really hate GP but I have to truly admit that I'm happy for him (cuz now they'll retire and we'll never have to see them again ). I have to admit he truly did look young and spry, short of him airballing the jumpers he would pop at least 8 times a game in his heyday. So he can't have it all, but last night was good enough. Go Zo...all the way home.

Awesome game. Could not believe Riley took him out for the stretch run.

You would think the Mavs would have learned by now not to bring anything even remotely weak to the hoop.
