Really??
Yeah, and Tony Delk is a scoring machine because he scored 50 once.![]()
He had to pick his option before the trade. You can't trade expiring contracts before the draft.
I believe they'll give him a low offer and if he doesn't take it, let him walk.
Spurs fans should be celebrating in the streets. I've watched Matt Bonner play a lot and this guy is damn good. He will be a fan favorite in no time. Think Malik Rose in his prime with an outside shot and like four inches taller.
I know he played in the NBA outpost north of the border, but if we were naming players that we'd want to fill what the Spurs need, Matt Bonner would be high on that list.
Another thing is this guy is tough as nails. When he was a rookie, he put a cheap shot on KG after KG was showing up the Toronto crowd. Bonner got ejected and the crowd gave him a standing ovation.
So in recap, the Spurs get an young active bigman who can shoot and his hard ass.
Got damn what a good trade.
Buford also just said the Spurs intention is to try and sign Nazr through free agency.

lowball
sign and trade.
Please let it be Mike Sweetney.
Thank you SM. Thanks a lot.
Yes.
He also said:
“It’s difficult to part with such a class act as Rasho, but in order to get quality you have to give up quality,”
Isn't Bonner just another version of Danny Ferry? Weak rebounder who can shoot and is 6-9, 6-10 ish? I don't know anything of his defense, but it seems his only redeeming quality is shooting (which might be enough to help the team).

Making it hard NOT to like Bonner Timvp
Hopefuly he comes in and bangs the boards like Malik did too.
OK, timvp.
My remembering him as a banger and as active was right. I thought I was mixing him up with some other similar guy who was @NJ or @Boston.
Hopefully yes, but is a better rebounder.Isn't Bonner just another version of Danny Ferry?
They could've used a Danny Ferry against Nowitzki.
If they would've had a Danny Ferry type, we would be talking about back to back les.
Matt Bonner isn't a great rebounder. He's a good shooter and good allaround player.
Brian Scalabrine?? Mr. Wunderlick???

Minus the 17 pump fakes of course.
So I haven't read all of this but was Williams a throw in or are we actually keeping him?
Gingers!
They'll probably work him out and see what he has left. He's pretty old.
Just an idea, angel_luv:
Maybe you should start a " thanks and good luck Rasho" thread for people liking Rasho who want to speak about him in a positive way ?
T_pork, do you have a point, or just an insult?
SJax and Nick career 3G %ages are around 35 ing %.
Not that 3Gs will be Bonner's primary role, but the way the Spurs fell in love with 3Gs last season, Bonner will get some chances from the arc.
His rebounding is pretty comparable Rasho's, so we're not giving up anything there. Not that it makes you wrong that he's a weak rebounder.
If all he can do is shoot from outside well enough to keep his man on him when he goes to the perimeter or the high post, that will be a big win on offense. It will make it harder to double Timmy an open up the lane for Tony and Manu to penetrate.
I'm sure Williams will get a chance to prove himself here. I can't imagine everyone ing to get a long SF for so long (myself included) would want to ditch this guy so quickly.
Man, they better not resign Nazr. that.
Exactly. He could be a stop gap long 3 to backup Bruce this season until they find a young one.
