its literally on a spectrum. on one end, there are males with xy chromosomes, born with a penis, and can reproduce w/ female by creating sperm, etc. on the other end you have females with xx chromosomes, born with a vagina, and reproduce via egg cells they create. but in between you have all sorts of intersex people with different chromosomal compositions, or with genitalia that dont match their chromosomes, etc. and theres a pretty wide range of those conditions, ie on a spectrum.

I agree. I don't go out of my way to disrespect anyone especially irl. And I doubt most are going around just calling transexuals "mentally ill" to their faces. There's just no reason to skirt around the real issue which is their mental illness and how some are trying to force that onto the whole of our society.

even if you were to deem it a mental illness, the most effective method of treatment from the data we have is to have them express as their gender iden y of choice, and to have strong support from immediate family. just telling them that they're mentally ill and basically denying their internal experience as delusion tends to lead to adverse health effects like suicidality

transgender typically refers to one who does not identify with the gender assigned at birth

you dont have to have undergone surgery or w/e to be transgender
