Jones is back
It's going to be on ESPN U. Figured we need a thread to post things like Jones' injury update.
Let the beautiful game begin.
Jones is going to make life a lot easier for the team.
Jones looks terrible
Seems like every other team has better basketball players that the Spurs have.
Jones looks rusty as , also wouldn’t mind Primo bringing up I hope Mitch tries to stagger them.
Primo needs to touch the ball more.
Jones hasnt shown to be as good as CoJo... not sure where they hype for him came from. Reminds me of when people would talk up Blossomgame all the time , and to a lesser degree, Weatherspoon
No one can really get by their guy off the dribble to collapse the defense.
Nobody knows how to shoot all of a sudden.
Ugh, I can't stand the "couple of crossovers then launch a contested long 2". DeRozan did and Murray does too much of that, no need for it from Primo.
with his lack of first step burst he's going to rely on it
nice pass by wieskamp there, but couldnt finish inside
Nobody can drive the ball to the bucket.
Yeah, a lack of an explosive first step will be a problem. If he only ever creates separation going sideways or backwards, defenders will just crowd him every time.
Each game, this is now the 4th, our team has been the least aggressive, the least physical, the least athletic, the least prepared.
not a good look for our future.
Primo started the game as the SF. Hmm...
finally meinkampf hits a shot
It's a critical part of a star's game. DeRozan is a tremendous offensive player and a successful iso scorer because he has the ability to do that. But I do believe it should be a "finishing touch" addition rather than an early development, and Pop et al having/letting Murray focus on that is one of the things I'm pointing to when I suggest they "developed him wrong". I don't have the same problem with it with Primo, because he can already shoot, including finding the open spot. Especially in the SL, he should experiment with ways to create his own shots. If in the real games he's passing up threes to dribble-pull-up his way to long-twos, then it's a problem.
Why not Vassell? In the SL, you can definitely get away with either playing the three. Jeffries is playing for the four for some reason.
I've long theorized that Vassell is better at guarding 1's and 2's. Primo, like I suspected, is probably stronger than him.
Jeffries was long been projected as the PF because of his girth and strength, and lack of ball handling ability.
Let's see if it continues.
It's early but Malik Newman looks like he's putting it together a little bit... Weiskamp doesn't look lost out there anymore...
