Short story, I was in charge of a local guard force that stood watch around our JSOTF (joint special operations task force) compound and I gave my locals a couple of D cell Maglights. The next morning I went to check on them and get their report from the previous night. They gave me back the flash lights and the bodies/tubes of both flash lights were severely bent, the lens were busted and the on/off buttons were either broke or missing. This was less than a 12 hours time span. So, never fear about what gear they have, they will end up destroying, disabling or losing it anyway."

Chris Cuomo was joined by phone on Cuomo Prime Time Monday, by an American citizen who was unable to leave Afghanistan before the final military plane departed. An interpreter, who was going by Sara to protect her iden y, was sheltering 37 women and children in her home, trying to get them safe passage out of the country, and wasn’t even aware the last U.S. plane was leaving.
“It’s heartbreaking to see that, with all this, what’s going on, no one heard us, that we are in danger and we need to be saved,” Sara said. “It's just heartbreaking. I don’t know — I just don't even know what to say to you. Whoever was trying to help me and support me, even they did not tell me that the flight is — this was the last flight. So I still had hope that we would leave.”
Sara is just one of the between 100 and 200 Americans reportedly remaining in Afghanistan who would like to leave. She said she tried going to the Kabul airport but was unable to get in, despite being in repeated contact with the State Department. Now, Sara appears to have lost faith.

Sounds like a pretty rough estimate. And I agree with using diplomatic channels and the threat of retaliation to get them out. We lost 13 soldiers already, we can't keep the military there in perpetuity while 100 people take even more months to find their way out.

Lots of people wanted the American military out of Afghanistan for legitimate reasons, but I didn't realize so many of them wanted the military out so they could enjoy the Taliban celebrations.
You can't be surprised that the Taliban would celebrate our departure, so I can only assume that images like these are being spread by conservatives because they're happy for the Taliban. Sad.
