Would (White + Satoransky) match Collins better salary-wise than (White + Thad)?
they would probably accept Walker/White/Thad for John/Knox

More players for Pop to bury in Austin , hey we might get a championship or two for the Austin team out of it , so can't be to mad
All jokes aside , picks are good just would be nice if Pop retires so we can get a coach that's not afraid of playing rookies.
Y'all are crazy if you think the Hawks are going to gift us Collins for that trash. Spurs would likely need to inlude their pick this year, something they wont want to give up. Plenty of teams can beat White + trash salary filler for Collinsbe realistic man
I would make that trade in a heart beat. I don't know anything about Knox, though. #9 draft pick 3 years ago with playing time going down each year?
It doesn't matter, but to clarify, that's not true. You can keep a player's Bird rights while not offering a QO. It's not the same thing as renouncing a player. The actions happen simultaneously when you get into the part of the off-season where a player has to consent to the QO being pulled. But the Spurs could just not tender it in the first place.
Regardless, I've always liked Bagley and wouldn't be opposed to trading Thad for him. It's just that he doesn't have positive value and the Spurs shouldn't be willing to trade a second for him just because he has some potential.
I'm wondering what we gon do with all these 2nd rounders? Spurs need some 1st round picks. Would teams drafting in the late first round trade their pick for 2 early 2nds to save some salary and sign the 2nds on two-way contracts?
JFC there are some ridiculously ty #2 picks this century: Bagley, Thabeet, Marvin Williams, Derrick Williams, Evan Turner, Stromile Swift, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Darko. Let's sign them all for their potential.
2nd rounders can be very valuable
i seem to recall seeing this kind of downward movement on draft nights but i don't know how common it is. that'd be a great scenario though. and, of course, the 2nd rounders are still nice trade assets.
My next call is to Boston -- do they give up a FRP to get off $14M next year of Hortford's contract?
Expirings of Tomas/Thad (~24.1M) get you there or close for matching purposes this year.
Spurs can't trade Satoransky with another player though. They would have to send them to different teams
Horford still has 14.5 million guaranteed next season. That would go a long ways to destroying this summers free agency. Not worth it for a mid first.
Have you seen this summer's FA class? Gross. Probably smart to just rent the space for assets.
Ah, I was not aware that was a limitation.
Boston wants to shed payroll this year to avoid the tax. They won't take a deal that ends with them having more salary
Marvin was a solid player for years. Easily the best player on that list. It sucks he got drafted ahead of two stars, but he shed his bust label by the end.
Don't forget Jabari, btb.
Huh? Hortford is owed 27M this year, and we'd be sending over ~24-25M in expirings, so they'd save 2-3M.
It's a moot point, though. Apparently Spurs cant aggregate Tomas with another player at this time.
Teams can only trade players they’ve acquired on their own. They can combine them with other players 60 days after the initial trade. It was the same with Juancho.
2027 huh? Migh be on opposite ends of the standings then.
I can't put Parker on that bust list considering he was pretty solid until he started getting hurt.
Nope. Detroits and LALs.
I mean they could still do it. Just would need a 3rd team involved that takes either one and sends a player with similar salary to Boston. But the Spurs definitely need to get a 1st to eat that Horford salary
It's not a Jazz pick though. It's a complicated one, which is why Woj didn't even bother with itBasically it's the worst second round pick in 2027 out of : OKC, Houston, Indiana and Miami.
