    "Minor incursion" - Brandon, 2022

Of course Putin knows what he's doing, he knows that there's a mumbling stuttering demented ol' fart at the wheel across the pond. Timing is just right.
And what's the chance China does something with Taiwan soon. Incompetent idiot.

I think Putin knows exactly what he's doing by attacking now. He's very aware of the damage he's doing to the West's image and the ripple effect it'll have in countries entering election seasons...
Damn right he does, TD. Love his Nazi prose, beat the West to it and it's state run media CNN.

You both still have the KGB thingy on him. tee, hee.

    rmt

And we're gonna have to let Taiwan vie for themselves when China moves on it. Same with Korea sooner, or, later. Sink-or-swim, OR, lots of trips out to Dover.

Whats to say Russia will stop at the Ukraine? The best thing to do if we do nothing is ask Ukraine to laydown arms for a peacefull surrender. The Democrats wont ever get elected again but we’ll avoid a nuclear war. I dont think Putin cares who was in office to invade but he picked a perfect time.
You GD right on that, BE, Putin has been pushed too far by the West, pushed right into a corner and now has turned in it and is ready to fight, real fight, real wars, not that nonsense that we pull as we've done since Korea; "Demilitarized zones" --- "parallels" --- etc., that has cost us many of our children's lives and well being.

This is a lesson being taught by Putin. Biden needs to shut up and learn, "but we'll avoid a nuclear war" because Putin ain't ing around.

Poland and Baltic countries trigger consultations under NATO article 4

NATO member states Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have triggered NATO Article Four to launch consultations within the alliance over their security concerns.

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine represented a “threat to the whole of Europe,” the Estonian government said in a statement on Thursday.

"Russia's widespread aggression is a threat to the entire world and to all NATO countries, and NATO consultations on strengthening the security of the Allies must be initiated to implement additional measures for ensuring the defense of NATO Allies,” Kallas said. “The most effective response to Russia's aggression is unity.”
Some context: Under Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Agreement, the Parties will consult together whenever, in the opinion of any of them, the territorial integrity, political independence or security of any of the allies is threatened.

Ukraine is not a member of NATO. However, Russia has demanded that NATO commits to never admitting Ukraine to the alliance, something NATO members have rejected, citing the alliance's "open door" policy.
...Putin just slammed that door shut on Ukraine joinin' up, RG.

You democrats on here really are cowards just listen to how scared you are,,,
...damn right they're scared, Hemi. I'm scared. We're not ready for this type of war'ing. We ain't done it since Japan's Sunday morning wake-up call 80 years ago. We're out of practice, we've been sloughing since then, making fools of ourselves on the battlefield, sending our children to one slaughter after another and humanizing that battlefield.

Watch Putin, he's conducting War 101...and if we make 1 false move he'll utter "nuclear" and then we're ed, ever more.

Russian stocks have fallen 40% over the last week. Putin is gambling on 3 things:

    1. Domestically, the rhetoric of patriotism and fighting "Ukrainian neo-Nazis" will be sufficient for tanking the economy and sacrificing his soldiers' lives
    2. The West will not want to sacrifice their troops to fight for Ukraine
    3. Eventually sanctions will be lifted once the dust settles in a couple of years (but with additional area under Russian control)

If the West really wanted to screw Russia in the short term they can freeze them out of the SWIFT payments system. But that will create problems for European banks who are creditors to Russian banks

On a different note, Ukraine must be kicking itself for giving up nuclear weapons in the aftermath of the fall of the USSR. All they got in return was "assurances" that the big boys would protect Ukraine.

There is no way North Korea, India, Pakistan and Israel are ever giving up nukes

rmt has identified the true villain: Joe Biden

All Trump would have done is put Jared in charge of both responses, and praised Putin more. As incompetent as you think Joe is, the party of Jared, Boebert, and Gaetz couldn't do better.

    Thank goodness for Biden.

I have little doubt that, in the long run, this will get Ukraine into NATO.

44,000,000 people are not really going to put up with Russian occupation, and you can bet guns and equipment will be readily available to any Ukrainian that wants them.

We couldn't hold on to Iraq which was 1/3 the size.

Russia's experience with this is limited to small scale excursions, and Chechnya. This will be bloody, and clumsy. Each new indiscriminate artillery barrage, rocket attack, and missile impact will make for new willing hands for weapons.

It takes a special kind of stupidity not to. It takes even more stupidity to mock others for being concerned about the potential end of our species at our own hands.

Mother ers like you are the kind of idiots who would run up to zombies to get bitten for natural immunity.

Lol at you jabronies arguing whether this is Trump or Biden’s fault as if Putin hasn’t been planning this invasion for decades

Putin has a vision of one mother Russia — a return to the USSR that is run by one man. The minute Ukraine gained their independence in 1991, he knew he was going to get it back someday, at any means necessary. He’s using this Ukraine & NATO as an excuse but this has been his plan since forever.

He probably didn’t expect it to be this soon, but the US having a ing demented geriatric skeleton of a Commander in Chief in Office right now definitely has China and Russia licking their lips rabidly. We’ve never appeared weaker and they’re making moves. China will no doubt invade Taiwan now. Gotta strike while the iron is hot, as they say. And weak-ass sanctions won’t do a goddamn thing to deter either. Sanctions are a joke to these powerhouse countries.

Biden and Trump can both get ed for all I care. I hate the American political two-party system and the “options” it gives us (such a joke lol). It’s a disaster, always has been. Just like George Washington warned us it would be. But that’s irrelevant now. We’re stuck with this -show now, until the empire eventually crumbles. And it will crumble eventually. They all do.
We have, essentially, a plutocracy. The mega-wealthy play the two off each other, and have managed to soak up all the wealth this country has produced for 30 years.

the grapes of wrath grow heavy.

Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, however, tweeted the "war and suffering could have easily been avoided if Biden Admin/NATO had simply acknowledged Russia’s legitimate security concerns regarding Ukraine’s becoming a member of NATO, which would mean US/NATO forces right on Russia’s border
    speaking of compromised politicians...
